Project 365 - Week 50

Week 50.

It's hard to post things celebrating the season after yesterday's massacre.  But there can't be a better reason to celebrate the birth of Christ, who came to save us from our sin and evil.  My heart just hurts for the families involved.  I don't even know where to begin praying for them....so much pain.....but I begin by praying that they know or will know Christ.

Here's my week:

Sunday
Our life group had a game night tonight and played "Things"...so funny!!!

Monday
"Can I not do with you, house of Israel, as this potter does?"  declares the Lord.  "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, house of Israel." Jeremiah 18:6

I am studying Jeremiah and tonight our teacher took us on a surprise field trip to a potter's house.  What an interesting evening.  I learned so much.

Tuesday
Making toffee today for my parties this weekend.

Wednesday
I am so enjoying all my Christmas decorations!!
I love this time of year!

Thursday
Alyssa helped me bake my great grandmother's pound cake today for my Christmas tea on Sunday.

Jason is home tonight!!!

Friday
My mom sends us peanuts every year.  And some times she sends different flavors...jalapeno has been a favorite in the past.  this year we got Savory Dill Pickle......interesting.

Saturday
Have you every boiled sweetened condensed milk to make caramel?  It's a bit nerve wracking as it can possibly explode!!!  But worth the watch!!!

I have been baking all day.  I am hosting about 35-40 ladies for a Christmas tea tomorrow.  This is the culmination of a busy weekend.....staff party on Friday, urban YoungLife party Saturday night and then the tea Sunday......I am worn out.

I agree about feeling like things shroud just stop after such terrible thing, our youth are going to be praying over prayer blankets that will be delivered to all involved during their worship this morning.

On a brighter not I am eager to see how you cakes turned out. I love the ideas of a Christmas tea!

Blessings

your desserts are always so awesome for your teas...such fun but a lot of work; I know the ladies appreciate your hard work.

I would be exhausted just attending all these events, much less having to prepare for them. Yikes! But you're such a good hostess :)

Hmm - I might have to try boiling sweetened condensed milk - I love caramel. On the other hand, Mike gets nervous if I try potentially exploding things in the kitchen!
