Project 365 - Week 46

Week 46.

Not gonna lie, this has been a very tough week for me.  We had to put my niece back in the hospital on Monday, dealing with some tough personal issues and a good friend losing his battle with cancer.  I have not needed God more in a long time and He showed up in BIG ways for me.....comforting me with His word, giving me strength I needed, even teaching me somethings I needed to learn.

I ended the week worn out, but thankful for a God who loves me so much.  Who knows exactly what I need.  Who is not afraid of messing with me when I need it.

I am processing a lot today, so I'll just get to my pictures:

One of Kayley's balloons escaped....gonna need a ladder to get that down!
Wonder how long that will to take a guess? :)

Kayley got worse last night and today...she refused to even swallow her pain meds.  It hurt so bad it just wasn't worth it to her.  she is once again dehydrated and we are worried about another infection, so she has been admitted back into the hospital...ugh.

Kayley is a bit better. we found out there is no new infection.  the doctor says that her tonsils were so deep they got very near her muscle and the muscles are seizing up.  She will stay in one more day with IV fluids but has to force herself to swallow and talk to loosen up those muscles.
Leslie and I went out for dinner and some wine was in order.

Kayley is better today.  Still in pain but more manageable.  We decided she needed some pampering before we left the hospital!!!

My neighbor had an abundance of peppers this year in his garden and gave me a bunch.  I don't have time to can right now so I sealed them up with my food saver to freeze for later!!!

My SIL took Kayley to OBU to talk with some of her teachers so Steve and I decided to hop in the car and head to JBU.  Jason was having a concert at a local coffee shop and we surprised him by showing up.  It was so fun and his band sounded GREAT!!!

My good friend, Mark, lost his battle with cancer today.  This morning, he walked, completely healed, into the presence of Jesus.  Though I am going to miss him so much, I am filled with JOY thinking of him with our Savior!!  You could not know Mark without experiencing Jesus.  He has left a unmistakeable imprint on my life and all who came in contact with him.  but I look forward to worshiping together again one day.  The picture below is how I will always picture Mark....serving.

Condolences on your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend and feel for you. I lost my best friend last year about this time to cancer but rejoice in the fact that she is completely healed and waiting for me to join her one day. I will pray for you as you walk through the days ahead. Glad to see your niece is feeling some better. I hope your next week is better than this one. Thank you for all you do.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mark - I remember you posting about him before.

I'm hoping Kaylee is doing MUCH better now. That picture of her with the mask is priceless :)

So glad you got to drop in & watch Jason's band!

GOOD friends are the HARDEST losses sometimes; praying for continued peace for his family.
Tell Kayley she's adorable...and I don't know many people who would look that CUTE in a green facial...she's so pretty!
It's wonderful to have some youth in the house again, ain't it? They give me energy ;)

Definitely a hard week for you but isn't it so wonderful to have the comfort of the Lord.

I dont know how anyone handles life without Jesus Christ in their life.

Praying for you!

The mask pic was my favorite too.
Did you get pampered as well? You've been through a lot. Wish you were here to share what God has been teaching.
That food saver sound great. I'll have to look into that.
So good that you could go to Jason's concert. I'm sorry we haven't been to one of Jared's yet.
so wonderful that you got to be with Mark fairly recently. We had a friend from OM pass on that same day. Heaven is going to be such an unending beyond-words reunion!

Oh Sara! What a week you had last week. I think you need more days like Tuesday. The photo of Kayley, and that she let you post it!, says a lot about her spirit. May this painful time also be a bonding time. You may never look back on it with fondness, per se, but maybe something sort of resembling it!
I'm so sorry for those cancer leaves behind. It stinks like nothing else. I don't know how those who don't believe handle it. I'm so grateful that both you and Mark do. Makes all the difference in the world! Love you!

Oh Sara! I had a long comment that blogger just lost. I don't have time to retype. BOO! I think you need a repeat of Tuesday. Love you and miss you! (Message me your cell number - again - I'd like to call and chat for a few when you have time)
