Letters of Intent

I am joining Foursons for Letters of Intent today.

Dear Schedule,

You are making me crazy.

I really don't like being so busy and it causes some unacceptable effects in my day:

* I'm so tired that when I sit down in the afternoon, I fall soundly asleep
* paralizes me to figure out what to do first and then nothing gets done
* makes me go to the grocery store multiple times in the week because I am not on top of things and tend to forget the ONE item I need when I am there
* gives me no time to blog...hence the lack of posts
* gives me only time to visit other blogs and not comment...I hate that
* makes me have to decide what things I am going to do when I want to do ALL of them!!
* is causing my son's senior year to go by WAY too fast!

What is that you say?  I said yes to all those things on my calendar, not you?

That is beside the point and your deflecting blame will not excuse the fact that you are too full.... atleast that's my story and I am sticking to it!

So, dear schedule, please, please calm down.  Please do not allow me to add one more thing to you.  You could add a flashing message on my calendar that says "No more room" when I try to add something.  Or maybe it should have a voice message that says "Hey you! You're doing this to yourself!  STOP" ......I might listen to you....no, really....I might.

Oh, who's kidding who.....I wouldn't.

Ok, dear schedule, can we atleast put our heads together and come up with a way to get me through this season with my sanity in tact?

Sincerely,

The woman who can't say no when she sees something that needs to get done and wants to do it all

I seem to suffer from the same affliction. Being able to say no is sometimes a difficult thing. Maybe we need to go on a "just say no" campain. I think it is just like a muscle. We have to exercise it and have faith that the good lord will give what we can't accoplish to another deserving soul. Let me know if you figure this one out. I could use the help on this one. As I look back I feel like my life has been a foot race. In a blink my kids are all grown up and I feel like I never really too a deep breath and enjoyed the moment. Love you and your post.

Just. Say. No. =) And remember...you're not going to be harassed if you do say no. It's perfectly okay.

I might have just commented with my daughter's account...I think it's sweet that she has a very limited blog but am not so excited when she doesn't sign out!

As always, love your sense of humor amidst chaos....I'm so thankful to "know" you!

Sounds a little like my life sometimes. I've slowed down a lot in the last week because I've been sick and you know what I've noticed. Life goes on even when I don't get everything accomplished and everyone seems okay with that. So maybe I don't need to do everthing I think I need to.

There's so much pressure to be all things to all people when you are the pastor's wife. You also happen to be a true friend and an involved mother, daughter and wife.

Do try to squeeze in a little calm before the holiday "storm". :)

I love your letters of intent! I'm sorry life is so frantic right now. The first time I said no to something that in my mind I thought was a non-negotiable, I was pleasantly and humbly surprised to discover the world stayed on its axis. I've learned to at least say "I need to check my schedule" even when I know my schedule just to get me away from the emotion of the moment and the urgency of the request.

Hang in there, friend!
