Great day!!!

This was a GREAT day!!!

It was homecoming for our school, so at 2:15 pm, they started the homecoming parade. It started by the football field and then swung by the elementary school.
You can see all the little kids out cheering them on.

The band then leads the parade up by the middle school and then down past the HS and onto the football field.

Didn't get a picture of Jared because he was at the all-region orchestra clinic. I was sorry he had to miss this part!!

Next came the floats. This is the sophomore float. Our theme was under the sea.

After the floats, came the homecoming court in convertibles.
So fun!!!

Our fall weather is GONE and it was H.O.T!!
oh my word, the sweat was pouring off everyone....ugh!
Not football weather!

We got home and my boy made it home!!!!!
He came in, we sat down to talk, he put his head on my lap and instantly fell asleep.
I know you know I HATED that! ha!!

Then back to the school for presentation of the homecoming court.
Everyone's hands are up because that is clapping in sign language.
One of our senior maids is deaf.....this made me tear up a bit.

Once the queen was crowned, the game began.
At half time, the band performed perfectly!!! well, if you ask me they did, if you ask them they wouldn't think so. But they sounded so good.

Here is my other boy playing in the stands.

And even though we lost the game, it was such a fun day!!!
I love this time of year.

Sara, what fun and excitement. Too bad it wasn't cooler though. But it still looks like a great time. How wonderful that the people in the stands were signing for that girl. That's sweet! I love to hear of high school students being kind to someone who may be different; it's reassuring.

Homecoming brings back lots of memories from my high school years so very long ago.

Blessings and love,
Debbie

So much fun - love the cheering in sign language as well! I wish for your sake that you'd get that fall weather too. We woke up to some major rain this morning, so John started the first fire in the fireplace this year....so cozy!

I love that picture of him sleeping on your lap! It gives me hope that my snuggle-bug won't be growing out of that phase anytime soon. ;)
I love homecoming. We are planning to take the kiddos over to the high school this year.

What an awesome day! Your homecoming sounds like so much fun...sadly our homecoming here is so very boring and not so very much fun at all!! No parades, no floats, no nothing! And love that they were clapping in sign language...how awesome.
