All Region Band member
1st Band, chair 4
We are SO PROUD of Jared. He tried out for all region band this morning and did an amazing job. This is for our region of AR and is for 7-9th graders. Jared is in 8th grade. There are two band with 1st band being the best and there are only 4 chairs for french horns in each. About 30 kids tried out for those 8 positions...this was Jared's first time. I am especially proud of him because when we got there, he found out that he had to have 3 scales memorized that they would pick. He hadn't known he needed to know his scales, much less by heart. So, we found someone with the music and a wonderful lady there copied it for us. Jared spent 20 minutes (all he had) memorizing the 3 he needed. Then 5 minutes before he was to play, we found out we had one wrong!!! And he had to learn a different one. Can you imagine that stress at 8:30 am in the morning?!!! He also had to play 3 out of 5 pieces he had prepared and had to sightread. He did amazing!! Way to go Jared!!

JARED, YOU ROCK. That is so awesome. French Horn is NOT easy to play. I am so impressed. As you know, I'm a bit of a music geek, you are going to LOVE performing with the best of the best!!!
