Wow, a lot has happened in the last week. Alyssa had a great birthday. She and I spent the day together shopping for clothes....that was what she wanted for her birthday. Typically, shopping with her can be very painful (she wants me there but doesn't want me to say anything!), but we had a fantastic day and had so much fun!!!

Our weekend was full with a Good Friday service at church and Easter. Plus Steve's birthday was on Easter, so we had a lot of planning. My friend, Wendi, and her family were coming to our house for Easter dinner too. Our Good Friday service was amazing. I enjoyed it so much.

Saturday, I planned to spend with my friend Wendi. We had a fun "pampering" day...hair, lunch, nails...it was so fun. Unfortunately, the day ended with Wendi finding out that her mom had passed away. I was so glad to be able to be with her when she got the call and stayed until her husband got home. Wendi's mom was an amazing christian woman and her death was quite a shock for all of us.

I am always amazed to see how things work in God's plan. We got to church on Sunday and a friend of ours from our church in Texas had come with their family to see us. We had not seen them in over 8 years. They were headed back to Texas after the service and we were able to have them over for dinner since the Spurgers weren't able to be with us. It was so fun getting reaquainted with old friends!!!

Wendi's mom was from Memphis and the funeral was on Wed. Three other ladies from our "Ellijay" group were able to come to the funeral to support Wendi. What a blessing that was. The funeral was a celebration of Ms. Mullin's life and was beautiful. She was a neat lady. The thing that impressed me the most was the family. All the siblings get along so well and it was truly a celebration. They all worked so well together. Many times at funerals, you feel so much tension with families that don't all get along or don't agree with the way things should go. But it was such a blessing to see this family rally around each other and support each other. I was very appreciative to have been able to be part of that. And how cool that Ms. Mullins was in the presence of her Lord and Savior on resurrection Sunday!!! If you think of it, please pray for this family as they go through the grieving process. Thanks!
