I am joining in with Friday Fragments...you can join in too, here
**I took a fairly long blog break and am trying to get back in the swing of writing.....you need to know that when your kids leave the nest, your blogging fodder greatly diminishes!!
**I'm having a dinner party tonight....my first in quite a while and I'm very excited! Great friends, good food = perfect Friday night!
**on the menu:
Vicki's Salad (romaine, apples, pears, cashews, wonderful dressing)
Salmon with avocado salsa
Roasted veggies
Brown rice
Homemade artisan bread
French silk pie
YUM!!!!
**We completed our last class needed to turn in our packet for our Foster certification. YAY! We are making final copies today and then can turn it in. All we have left will be our home study!!! I hope to be open by March! This has been such a long process and very frustrating at times, but the end is in sight!!
**I think I will have some fodder for blogging soon! :)
**I am so excited for next week! My niece is having a softball tournament not far from my son's college. So my SIL is flying in and we are going together. We get to see Kayley play and visit Jason and to top it all off, Jason is playing a show at a local coffee shop that weekend!! Score!
**my bible study is amazing. I can't even begin to tell you all I am learning and how it is applying to my life right now. I am doing a Precept study on Jeremiah. If you have never done a Precept study, I recommend it. It is a STUDY, which means there is homework. But in these times, I think it is so important to KNOW God and know His precepts. There are so many counterfeit ideas out there.....knowing the Truth will keep you from stumbling on the fakes.
**I'm praying today for all my East coast friends that are about to get hit by this storm!! After what we went through over Christmas, I am praying mostly for power and that it won't go out.
That's it for me.
Have a great weekend!!!

Great to have you back!
Nice to see you again! I think this time of year is a little quiet on the blogs in general, but I'm an empty nester too, and have been sick on top of that, so fairly quiet here too.
I'm currently in a group doing Beth Moore's study on James and it is fabulous. I'm really loving it and learning so much.
Enjoy your dinner party and time with your sister and family!
Kids always give you blogging ideas/pictures... I'm always on cruise control when the grandbabies are around visiting :)
That dinner sounds AMAZING! Have fun tonight!
Love to hear people enjoying their Bible Study. The book we're doing now, its killing me because I want to read ahead... call me an over achiever I guess :)
I'm sure that when my youngest daughter graduates from high school in 2 years, my blogging will take quite a hit. Not looking forward to that! Your Bible study does sound wonderful! Have a great weekend...I'm your newest follower! :)
I agree that when the kids are gone there is less to blog about. Trying to find new things.
Our Bible Study starts in 3 weeks. We're doing A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place. Beth Moore's study on the Tabernacle. I've done it before with another group. I'm looking forward to doing it with our group of ladies. Should be good.
We took the training to be Foster Parents many years ago. We did foster to adopt. There is a lot of work to it, but it was worth it. I hope it will be wonderful experience for you guys.
Delicious sounding dinner. I just started our bible study last called Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst. Much different than last year's study on Jonah.
Woohoo, dinner party!! It sounds lovely, I love doing that with friends!!
I hope the final stages of the foster prep goes quickly without hitch.
I love precept studies! We did Nehemiah a few years ago. Lots of work but well worth it!! :-)
My hubby claims to only be 14, and being only 14 he gives me lots of blog fodder!
Good thing he's a good sport.
This is your third (at least) "Friday Fragments" post that you left out the "G" in FraGments in the title.
HI Sara! Glad to see you back in blog world...I have been mostly MIA as well. Looking forward to stories of new adventures at YOUR house once your foster care begins!
