Project 365 - Week 29

 Week 29.

Well, things seem to be getting back to normal around here....except for the excessive heat that we are having!!!  It is seriously so hot here, it's almost not even fun to be in the pool.  We are in extreme drought and things are just drying up and dying. We need rain!!!

Steve and I celebrated 28 years this week.  Such a great feeling to know that I am still crazy in love with this man and after 28 years, he is still my best friend!!  Love him!

Here's my week:

Sunday
Did some college shopping this afternoon.  Trying to get some of the big things out of the way before they are picked over in August!

Monday

We started the process tonight to become foster parents!
Our first meeting of many.  It will probably take 4-6 months to get certified...seems like forever but I am sure it will go fast!

Tuesday
This is my neighbors sweet little boy.  He is a twin and they are absolutely adorable.  One has curly, curly blond hair and this one has completely straight hair!!  They love my pool and "relaxing" on the deck chairs!!!

Wednesday
 One word.....ouch.

Thursday
Walked up to my friend's house today to pick her up for lunch and her husband was sitting in his car eating HIS lunch. Apparently the sound system in his car is better than the house!  It cracked me up!

Friday
Tonight we went to dinner with our neighbors to celebrate our anniversary and his 60th birthday.  We are so blessed to have such great friends!!

Saturday
Happy 28th Anniversary to my sweet husband!!!

Today my bf, Wendi, had an open house for her new home.  I went to help her with the food so that she could enjoy her party!  It was so fun and of course, she had some amazing food!!
Little pastry spoons with pimento cheese.
 brownie delights!

Well, that's my week!!  How is your summer going?!

LOVED the school shopping time! Smart mama shopping early.

Can't wait to hear more about your foster parenting journey. Both the before and during tales.

Happy anniversary! The Hub's and I just had our 30th a few months ago!

One of my oldest and dearest friends used to foster babies during the adoption process. Every once and a while she will tell me that one of the children she took care of will make contact with her now that they are grown up.

Very exciting!

Loved the food shots those pastry spoons looked amazing! so simple but to good!

Hope it rains for you soon, we have been getting rain almost every day here, it is very unusual for July! But everything is wonderfully green and looks so good!

Blessings
R

i sure hope God hears those requests...i'm not eager to leave my prayer partners and myriad of friends in the community but hubs wants to live on the lake and I know i'll love it eventually.
we'll probably be doing it before the end of the year

Happy, happy anniversary to you and Steve!! So very excited you've begun the foster care journey. The process to get licensed will seem crazy short, and before you know it, you'll be faced with the decision to accept or not your first call. God has such good things for you, I just know.

My Dr. talked to me about doing a mammogram this week. I said, HUH?? But...in 10 yrs I will be the age my grandmother was when she died from it. Good to get screened!

Happy (belated) Anniversary!

Those are the cutest pastry spoons with cheese! Gonna have to pin that :)

Hopefully y'all will get some cooler weather soon :/ All that heat is no fun.

The neighbor's boy is a cutie :) Those chairs do look comfy!

Good week.
Praying for a grace-filled future of blessing many children.
We just started an adoption/foster care/orphan focus group at our church.
Won't be long till we see you again. Time is speeding along.

Looks like a fun week! Foster parents are a special breed- I work with children with disabilities and have had the good fortune to know several awesome foster families. Best of luck!
