Project 365 - Week 27

 Week 27.

Sunday
This speaks love to me and I think I will always treasure this picture.

Monday
I drove home today and left Steve and Alyssa with his mom.  Did you know that you could rent books on CD from Crackerbarrel and then return it to ANY Crackerbarrel in the US for just $3.49?  I rented this book and thoroughly enjoyed it on the 7 hour drive home. It definitely kept me awake.

Tuesday
My good friend, LeAnne (to the right of the baby), is home on furlough from the mission field.  I was so happy to be home in time to see her at this fun get together!!

Wednesday
  Joseph Roland Bauman
June 22, 1928 - July 4, 2012

Thursday
The funeral has been set for Friday so that Joe's son (who arrived just hours after he passed) could attend.  Which meant that I would have to make the 7 hour drive again tomorrow and then drive back home on Saturday.  I wasn't sure I was up for that, but our good friend, Stephen, offered to fly me.  What a huge gift that was for me!!!  I had never flown in a small plane before but it was so fun!!  And gave me the ability to face the next two days a bit less tired!  What a blessing it is to have such great friends!  Thanks Leah and Stephen!!!

Friday
Joe was catholic, so today we had a mass for him.  None of our family attended this parish (Joe did not go to mass much), but this church was so wonderful to us!

 Saturday
It was so sad for me to drive away and see Steve's mom standing on the stoop alone.  I know she will do well, but these next days will be the hardest I think.  I appreciate your prayers for her as she makes this transition to this new phase in her life.

It has been a tough 2 weeks and I am hoping for some quiet days ahead this week.

Ah Sara, you've been in my prayers all week. That last picture of your mother-in-law saying good-bye is so heartbreaking.

I hope tomorrow can be a day of reprieve for you and you can start a fresh week on Monday returning to a sense of normal routine again.

Love,
Steph

I echo the sentiments of all the commenters. Tough, tough week. Will continue to pray for your MIL and the whole family.

What an adventure to fly! Ivan has a private pilot's license but it's been years since we had the time or money to fly. He has an older aviation buddy (who's 80) who just started building his fifth plane! Guess who will be helping him every chance he gets?! :)

How wonderful that you were able to spend time with your friend who's on furlough. God tucks in those smaller special times, right in the midst of the bigger difficult times. He's so good!

Again, so sorry for your families loss.

That little plane - well you are a better woman than I. So kind of your friends to help you out.

Joel just got that book for vacation. One of his favorite authors.

Hope the week is a little more calming - hugs

I know what a treasure that first picture will be for everyone who loved your FIL.

Saying goodbye to loved ones is so difficult, and especially for the spouses who have to learn a new normal. Praying for all of you!

Blessings

What a roller-coaster week you had. So very sorry for the pain and sadness you and your family have experienced over these past several weeks. I know you must be physically and emotionally exhausted! Praying for you.

But I have to say...I'm impressed you got on that plane! I'm not sure I could have. eek

Loving tribute!
God is good--His timing, His provision, His presence.
I was reminded of the small plane ride after Mike's serious biking accident some 6 or 7 years ago.
The Comforter be close to you all each day.

Here's hoping that the rest of the summer gives you & your family time for healing...
