Project 365 - Week 34

Week 34.

I am late getting this posted this week.  My brother arrived last night...after dropping his daughter off at a college near me! yea!  And we were having so much fun getting caught up that I forgot to post this last night!!!

This week was full, fun, sad, great.....all in one.  I really didn't expect my youngest's last 1st day of school to hit me so hard...ugh!

Here's my Week:
Sunday
Two teenagers were baptized today after the service.
Can there be anything better to watch?!!

Monday
I had to work the FAC table during back-to-school and I conned, well begged, Jason to help me since I was the only one to volunteer!

Tuesday
My last 1st-day-of-school EVER....
 The obligatory picture!

I always do something fun for myself the first and last days of school.  Today a friend of mine went to a Brazilian bakery for some amazing coffee, pastries and lots of laughter!!!

Wednesday
Quesadilla's for dinner

Thursday
I do not have a picture today and for the life of me....I can't remember why or what I even did on Thursday right now.  sheesh!

Friday
Played cards with our good friends Kenny and Tracee tonight.
The girls DOMINATED and it was AWESOME!!!

Saturday
Of course we had to have one last game of settlers before Jason leaves for college tomorrow!!  We've actually played more cards this summer than settlers.

Hope everyone is getting back into the swings of school...if not then enjoying the last of your summer!!!  Link up and let us see!!

Your Thursday comment is EXACTLY why we do this project. :) If we don't document it, its gone. Thank you SO much for staying faithful to it for us!

Can't believe you've kicked off the last senior year. Hope its a really great one for Jared.

I agree with Lisa on the lost picture. Mine was Monday.

Also happy we can go through the "lasts" together.

Blessings to Jared on his last year of high school.

That quesadilla looks yummy (yes, I focus on the food). Glad the girls dominated at cards :)

Sorry your last first day of school was a tough one - it's even harder because he's THRILLED, isn't he?

I like that baptistry...and the baptisms!
Sometimes I wish I could do the 'first-days-of-school' over again, and better, but mostly NOT. I'm content to follow grandkids beginnings from afar, and prayerfully. They do face different challenges nowadays.
Great idea to do something special for yourself on those days.
So much fun to visit with brothers.
Have another great, good week!

My kids will start school a week from Monday, so for one more week we're enjoying summer!

I've had a few weeks this year where I had no idea what we did on a particular day so I could not even "re-create" the picture. So don't feel bad!

Last "1st" day. Wow. I can't even imagine. Sorry it's so hard. I have a feeling the last "last" day might be even harder... :(

you are so right, watching a young person either get baptized or even just come to the alter to pray...it does not get any better than that!

I love Quesadilla's for dinner!

I have never heard of the game settler's....it looked interesting. Do you need more than two people to play?

Blessings

If you like Settlers, you should try Ticket to Ride. We learned how to play this week and loved it!

Baptisms always make me tear up - happy tears of course! It's such a blessing to witness someone publicly committing their life to Christ.

It must be a bittersweet feeling to send one's youngest off for their last first-day of school. It certainly feels odd for me not to be starting school! I've done it for the past 18 years!

I love the baptism picture because I have never seen a baptismal in that shape or size. I have seen the ocean, Dead Sea, rivers, & little kids swimming pool but this one is a first. How neat looking.

Sounds like a great week...sorry I have been MIA in the past weeks (although I have been posting, I have not been visiting...so darn busy!) I can't even imagine my kids' last first day of school...makes me tear up just thinking about it! What fun to have your neice going to school so close by! I hope you have a great week!

mmmm Brazilian coffee and pastries <3 <3 <3

Glad you could get some family time in before Jason left! We definitely got a lot before my sister left for grad school states-away... still wishing she were here now though!
