Project 365 - Week 32

 Week 32.

I am posting early today because tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for me.  We have friends visiting and they will leave after lunch tomorrow and then we have a new comers dinner here tomorrow night with a full crowd.

This week brought a big change for all of us....Alyssa moving out on her own.  She is still getting settled and unpacked but seems very excited about her new home....although she has been home every night around dinner!!  hmmmm.....

Here's my week:
Sunday
This was our snack for children's church today....isn't it cute?!  The kids loved it!

It was Andrea's last night with us, so we went out to dinner.  This picture cracks me up.....don't touch me!!!!

Monday

Jason is an awesome waffle maker and Alyssa asked him to make them this morning.  As I ate mine, I thought it had a funny flavor to it.  This is our converstation:
Me: Jason, what did you put in the waffles?
Jason: the usual, why?
Me: it tastes different
Jason: what does it taste like?
Me: cumin
Jason: what is cumin?
Me: a spice that looks a lot like cinnamon

Yep, someone needs to learn to read the labels!!
Tuesday
These are the trucks leaving our house, loaded with all Alyssa's belongings.....she moved out today....wahhhhhhhh.

Wednesday

We are melting in the south!
It actually got up to 114 today...ugh.
Thursday

This actually happened yesterday.
I spent the day helping check band kids in at school and fitting them with their uniforms.
Friday

Even though it is Friday, our date day, I didn't feel like going out for breakfast.  So we stayed in and I made biscuits, eggs and ham.
Saturday

Made these delicious rolls for breakfast.  It's an Ina Garten recipe...soooo good.
It has been so hot here, but I couldn't wait any longer to can jam..the fruit won't wait.  So Alyssa came over early to learn and help me.  She learned it's a lot of stirring! ha!

 She's very creative!

Always love to hear the pop of the jars and when you are done, it is such a feeling of accomplishment.  Canned 3 batches....more to come next week.

That's it for me. Link up and share your week in pictures!!

LOL at the waffles! They look fabulous even though they tasted slightly off :) And those cinnamon rolls look fabulous too!

Love Alyssa stirring with her elbow on the bowl - I'd do that too. Sure hope things cool off for you guys soon! We're MUCH cooler up here - 86 degrees right now. Ahhh!

I'm so impressed with all your accomplishments--all that jam. (what fruit?)
Alyssa is slowly transitioning out on her own. (Does she still bring her laundry home?) So good to have her near.

The waffle story literally made me laugh out loud! So funny.

I like all of the food pictures this week, and those breakfast rolls look particularly scrumptious.

This heat is certainly no fun! 114 is way too hot, and I'm sure it was even hotter when you first got in the car.

Jason looks so much like Steve in that first picture.

So nice that Alyssa is close by...that's a good way to start I imagine, even though its sad. :(

There is NO way my husband would allow me to use the stove in heat like that. Our old house heats up pretty fast and there is no AC downstairs.

Love the waffle story!

I thought 100 was bad. I would have died at 113. I have been too hot to even eat...much less cook...although the jam looked amazing. Loved the elephant cookie thing. Too cute and the cumin story was priceless.

Thanks for the heads up. Don't know why that happens.

Phil's favorite sport is baseball.

Hope your busy day goes well.

O.K. it really helps if you know how to put in the blogger address. How about a . instead of a -. sorry for making a mess.

That little elephant is cute.

I remember my grandma making jam every year. It used to heat up the whole house, but boy was it good!

In answer to your question, no it was not family camp. It was our church's annual kid's camp, but Yohn and I are the directors so we both go every year. This was the first year both of our children were old enough to go.

Hope you get some relief from the heat soon - that sounds like no fun.

The waffle story cracks me up :)

I wish I knew how to do some canning! I did some peaches once but that's it.

I like cumin a lot..but in waffles? Love all the stories that went along with your pictures. I really miss coming by, said the super flakey blogger.

Seeing the pictures of your daughter moving out gets to me since it won't be too much longer until mine move up and out as well. Gulp!
