When plans get interrupted

I had this week all planned out.

I have the house to myself and my time to myself for a whole week.

I had plans.

Are you laughing yet?

Monday my plans got a very fun change...I got to keep my friend's 5 month old for the afternoon on the spur of the moment.  I love changes like that and of course adapt to them very well.

But Wednesday, I had planned to have a relaxing evening to myself.  Just me, my book and a quiet house....perfect.  Then Thursday, was supposed to be my "fun" day.  I had plans to meet this sweet friend for the first time!!  She is here to present some research at a conference (she is uber smart, this one!)

However, when I came home from work last night,  I opened the door to the worst smell I have ever smelled.  My poor Lily had had diarrhea ALL over the house....

...seriously, in every.single.room.

I will spare you the gory details but I spent FOUR hours cleaning....lit a bazillion candles and then had to bathe the dog.  I literally fell into bed last night.

This morning, I took Lily to the vet (at the crack of dawn), He wants me to stay home with her today to keep an eye on her.  They are not sure what is wrong, may be her thyroid (she gained 12 lbs in one month!!) and they are running some tests.  I have to take her back tomorrow morning to find out.

I love, LOVE my dog.  She is the BEST dog ever.

BUT, I am so upset that I don't get to meet Judith...she is only here for a few hours.

This particular interruption is not going over very well....at all.

I am so disappointed I won't meet Judith, I am a bit miffed that this all had to happen while I was the only one home and I have blisters on my fingers from scrubbing.......can you sense the pity party coming on?

I think it is very interesting that I just picked up my new study book for the bible study we are starting next week:

Jonah:  Navigating a life Interrupted

hmmmmm...I think God is about to teach me some things.

Well, the experience is good for a very entertaining future "what happens when we make plans" testimony...but, so sorry you had to go through with it all.

And, I'm so sorry for Lilly - I hope she starts recovering/feeling better in a hurry - you know I totally relate to that love of the family dog.

Hang in there Sara!

Oh My! Sorry for you and Lily. Worse thing....not getting to me our pal, Judith. Did you know we're running partners...in different states? lol. I love blog friends. I would be uber disappointed too. Hope everything is ok with your pup. Blessings, SusanD

Sorry to hear about your dog Lilly. Hope she will feel better soon. Too bad you will miss seeing your friend. Maybe there is a reason why you need to stay home. It isn't fun when our plans get interuppted. Only way to think positivie about that is that there has to be a better reason.

Try to enjoy your day.

I am so sorry, but I had to snicker at the title of your new study. Appropriate, perhaps? I will be praying for your sweet Lily. People without animals just do not understand that attachment. They are precious.

It's just pure no fun to have your plans upset like that, totally understand...but your study subject...too funny and I think not a coincident...

I hope the puppy is ok,

Have a great rest of you time, at least you can hope....

God's humor--a life interrupted :)

We've had our week interrupted by this terrible cold/cough/laryngitis/whatever that hit us. We were supposed to leave for NC today, but here we are quarantined, yet not too upset.

It's just as well your guys didn't call. I'll be very curious to know what Jared's impressions were of each place.

You are going to love that bible study. We finished it on Monday night. It was very enlightening. I feel your pain....and am so sorry....that sounded like something that usually happens to me.

Oh - I hope your fur-baby is feeling better & its nothing serious. I get so worried when mine arent feeling good... something happening to them just freaks me out. Hopefully it was just something she got into & it now over with...

I did the Jonah study & really enjoyed it!

Bummer all around. Those little "coincindences." Yep, I feel you might get a lesson a two right where you need it. :)

Hope Lily is feeling better soon and that you can enjoy some of your free week.

Hi Sara, it's Dena from Green Acres. I can totally empathize on the mess the dog had in store for you. It's a good thing we really love our dogs. ha!

Your bible study sounds so good. Might just be something I need to look into.

Urgh! So sorry... I'm guessing that Jonah study will go deep into your heart after your super disappointing interruption this week. (Although you have no idea how much I am envying your whole house all to yourself thing. haha)
