Project 365 - Week 6

 Week 6.

Well, it looks like the whole country has been under winter weather.  In AZ, my home town, they broke an all time record for low temp!!  I sure am glad that we are in global warming **wink, wink** because just think what it would have been like!!!

It is COLD here in the south!!!

But even in this frigid weather, God revealed Himself mightily in my week!!  Hope yours was a wonderful as mine!!!

 Sunday

If you remember my Sunday School kids had a penny war in December to earn money to buy an animal for Heifer Int.  Well, they rocked it out.  Can you see all the animals they were able to buy?  Two are easy, the 3rd is a little harder....look on their hands.  BEES!  They have bee puppets on their hands.  In stead of handing Christian (with Heifer) the check they brought in the animals they were buying so the church could see.  I am SO proud of them!!!

Monday

My co-worker making a wrap.
Only this one was so full I didn't think she would get it to close...
....amazingly she did!!
Tuesday

HUGE thunderstorms here today.
and of course, our power went out!
I had to take Jared to school because my car was in the shop.  The power went out while I was gone, so I could not get the garage door open....and Jared doesn't have a key to the house, great.  Fortunately for me, my neighbor has a key to our house!!!  Can I just say it is really frustrating when I lose my power but the neighbors across the street HAVE power!
Wednesday

Spent the afternoon in this waiting room while my friend had a double, radical mastectomy.  Love that her surgeon prayed for her before she went back.  The surgery took only 45 minutes and the doctor said that it could not have gone any better!!!  Now we wait for pathology.

 Thursday

If she were not in the hospital, you would never know she had just had major surgery!!!  My friend is feeling GREAT today and the surgeon was so surprised to not find ANY swelling or bruising from the surgery.  She is actually going home this morning.  Praise God!!!

Friday
First off, my friend got her pathology report back...they got ALL the cancer.  She will not have to endure radiation!!!!  Thank you, Jesus!!  He has taken such amazing care of her!!
A storm is blowing in today.  1-3 inches is predicted....yes, just 1-3 inches.  I had to run to the store for a couple items for a dinner I had to make for a friend and this is what I found......

The people here are crazy.  It was like they all thought they would be snowed in for a MONTH.  It took me 3 times as long to check out as it took to find my items.....ugh!!

But I need them because I was spending the night with this friend and making her dinner....

She dislocated her shoulder and can't care for her baby.  Her husband had to work over night and so I got the pleasure of spending the night with her and caring for this sweet, precious baby!!!!

Saturday
Oh my word, I am in heaven!!!
For a limited time, they have brought back these....

...the original dorito flavor!!!!
So long diet!!!!
So how was your week?  I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of pictures of snow!!!

I've been following some of the news about the storms up there. Ugh. Not missing that AT ALL.

Love the animal presentation -- great job kiddos!

Had to chuckle at locking yourself out when the power went off -- can you imagine living where power outages were a regular occurrence? The year we spent in Uganda made us very thankful for electricity; for one thing, we didn't have any at our house, and although the school across the road did have it, it so rarely worked that we never counted on it. Keeps it in perspective for me now, when we have outages more than the U.S. but less than Uganda :)

Your whole week looks busy but good! That wrap made me hungry. LOL

So glad to hear your friend had good news. And what a blessing you were this week to those two women.
I love taco flavored. I was just at WalMart grocery shopping but did not see them. Will check next time.
I also love the commercials and that is usually all I watch on Super Bowl Sunday but this year is different.
Have fun tomorrow !!!!

OMG, I forgot everything else I was going to say because I LOVE those Doritos, lol!

Glad you had a good week and I'm glad your friend is doing so well. My mom had almost the exact situation 1 year ago & the same outcome, just here was a single breast.

She did great, but after a month his a real depression that she didn't see coming. She's blessed to have you in her life.

Hugs & Love
Mimi

Um, I was that neighbor this week - we had power & the folks across the street were without. Sorry!

I'm so glad for your friend! That's great news.

You are such a great friend - taking care of all those ladies! But, you are making me really hungry. I started a diet Friday and I'm about to starve:( - those Doritos and wraps look awesome. I love my CChurch babies, too - so sweet. We will be performing a drama at church tomorrow night...:)

No pictures of snow from my neck of the woods, but I do remember the days when people would panic and make a mad rush to the store. You'd think they weren't going to have another chance to go again for weeks.

I'm sorry your friend had to be in the hospital to begin with, but I am thankful for the outcome!

SO grateful for your friend's outcome! The waiting room looks like an airport terminal...I thought you were flying off somewhere!

Praise Jesus for good results!

What a sweet friend you are, I had several dislocated shoulders though out my younger years. Once you dislocate a shoulder there is always the chance it will happen again. I can not imagine having a baby and not having use of your arm for any length of time, very inconvenient.

and...folks in our area do the same thing, if there is a hint of snow in the forecast you can forget about getting any milk, bread or eggs at the store...

Great week!

We got a whopping scant inch of snow. Still managed a snow day off from school. I would have much preferred that they stick with the late start.

Wonderful news on your friend's pathology results. Hope her recovery continues to go well.

I never did like those Doritos, so I'll let you have my share. :-)

I get teary eyed just thinking about HOW GOOD GOD IS with your friend and her cancer treatment coming along. She has endured SO MUCH. She is SO BEAUTIFUL in the photo you took of her! I will pray she will continue to feel great post-surgery.

Our news kept showing C-R-A-Z-Y people with OVERFLOWING carts in grocery stores!

Awesome news about your friend - and you are a saint to not only deliver food to your other friend, but have it be so tasty (I saw the menu of what you made on Facebook!).

I think the snow issue + the Super Bowl weekend = the perfect storm of grocery store chaos. Weather was not an issue at all around here, but Costco's lines were still out of control....

Your epitaph should include:
"great friend to many!!!"

I hope it was comforting to hear you are not the only ones suffering winter woes. Sorry about all the frustrations.

Keep up the good work, friend!

Omgosh! I love those doritos. so yummy. It has been cold and snowy were I live. So much snow over here. I am ready for spring for sure.
Your friend looks great. I hope that she gets a good report.
Beautiful baby too. Such a cutie.

Bellezza said...

Such a blessing that your friend is okay, and that her surgeon (as well as her dear friends) prayed for her. She looks so kind and strong!

Now I have to go looking for the original, Doritos. Thanks a lot, Sara, for sharing that piece of news. I have a friend who says she needs to go on an O diet: don't eat anything that ends in o like Doritos, Ho-Ho's, Oreos, cappuccinos, you get the idea. Everything yummy.

Love the Heifer project and how they chose to present their earnings!
That wrap is stuffed!!
What would all of those Arkansas poeple do if they were here for a "real" snow storm? :)
Love the throw back Doritos. I've seen them too and love it!

Praise the Lord for the great report that all the cancer was removed!
I saw that Dorito flavor but I didn't realize that was the original flavor. I will have to buy them and see what they taste like. I love making taco salad with Doritos so I wonder how taco flavored doritos would taste in the taco salad.

So weird you lost power! But I do know the feeling with the whole garage door thing. That's happened to me before. Yuck.

Praise God for A's fantastic news! Her sweet boy is supposed to come here to play tomorrow, but I can't get in touch with her and am not sure how I'm going to get out in the morning. (We have a horribly sloped driveway.)

I'm pretty tired of the snow...I'm ready to see flowers blooming. How 'bout you?
