Project 365 - Week 40

Week 40

I have really been a bad host the last two weeks and I apologize. I just wasn't able to get around to all of your blogs. I promise to do better this week!! Mostly because I really miss seeing what is going on with all of ya'll!

You will also have to bear with me this week. I have A LOT of pictures. My mom and I took a trip together to Boston last week. We had a blast and I just could not narrow the pictures down to one.....or two....or even three. There are actually FIVE for some days! And if you are hungry at all right now.....you might want to come back later.....there's a lot of lobster in the pictures...just sayin'! .....it was so awesome!!!

So get a cup of coffee and get comfortable!!

Here's my week:
Sunday
Mom and I walked around Boston today...

...and had lunch at B&G Oyster ...

...where we had the most amazing lobster roll!!!

We ended the day with Wicked.
This was just the first day....standards have been set HIGH!!

Monday

Today we rode the train to Salem.
We totally enjoyed our time there.
Loved touring the House of Seven Gables...I may need to read this book again.

Afterward, we had our 2nd lobster roll!!

Tuesday
We started our day at the Harvard Museum of Science.
They have a whole section where a father and son, in the 1800s, created plants, flowers and their parts for the study of plant life. It was truly amazing!!

These plants are completely made of glass!!!

We then took the subway....

...to the JFK Presidential Library.

And then headed to the Boston Aquarium.

While walking around afterward, we got caught in a rain storm. Fortunately, we were right next to Cheers and waited out the storm with a nice glass of wine....where every one knew our name!! ha!

Wednesday

Today was our prettiest day ever and perfect because today was the day was was to meet these two friends!!!

Lisa and Karin!!!
Karin and I lived near each other in Indian, but hadn't seen each other for over 5 years. And this was my first time to meet Lisa in person!!! Definitely a highlight for me!!
Lisa brought her kids and Karin brought 3 of her TEN!!

Aiden loved my bracelet!!!

Though the kids had never met, they were fast friends!!
I am a bit jealous these two ladies live relatively close together!!!

After they had to leave, mom and I took a trolley tour of the city.

We ended up at a restaurant my friend Wendi told me about. If you get there before 4:00pm, the lobsters are $10. We loved this place, the Purple Shamrock, it was open air and the people that worked there were so fun!!

We ended our evening at Blue Man Group!!!
What a GREAT day!!!

Thursday

Today is our last day.
We decided to take it easy in the morning and enjoy our last cup of coffee in Boston and then head to the airport.

And we got on the plane to head home....
..but not before we purchased our last lobster roll at Legal Seafood in the airport. They wrapped it up for us and we dumped the lobster on the salad we were served on the plane for dinner. It ended up being the last lobster roll, but the BEST one we had!!

Mom and I had to split up in Dallas.
So hard to say good bye...not knowing when we will see each other next. But we had such a great time in Boston. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mom!!!

Friday

Do you get a bit down when you come home from a trip?
I do....I'm tired, the coffee doesn't taste as good, there is a mound of laundry to do, I have to jump back into my schedule....
....ice cream always helps!!!

We did an out door, drive through flu shot clinic this morning at the Pharmacy. It was a bit slow at first, so Riley decided she would drum up some business!!

...and only in Arkansas would someone drive up to a flu shot clinic with a deer in the back.....yuck!!

Whew! I am impressed if you made it this far!!! That was a lot of pictures.

Now, how was your week?

I'll pass on the lobster.

Loved the pics but I can't believe there weren't any of the fall foliage! There's even a totally green tree behind you & your mom at the outdoor cafe. What's up with that?!

Boston brings back memories of my honeymoon! (Although Boston was mainly just the bookends and we spent most of it in western Mass.)

I don't recall ever trying lobster. Is that a shocker? I obviously grew up in the Midwest and my family never ate much seafood... maybe if I make it to Boston, I'll have to go for it! I'm so glad you had that opportunity with your mom. There's something I really like about the pictures of your mom on the train and waiting for the subway. I'm not sure what it is, but they're good. What a precious memory you guys made together.

No apologies needed. I forgot to link up last week so that is even worse. LOL
What an awesome time with your mom...I am seriously jealous. Wicked and the Blue Man Group. So much fun. My goal is to take my girls to see Wicked in Chicago or NYC one of these days. Maybe it will be on my 365 some day.
Love all the food too. Lobster so much.
You two are adorable.

All that yummy lobster...
I went to see the BlueMan Group in Las Vegas with my sister a few years ago.

Looks as though you had an amazing week in Boston with your mom. I have always wanted to visit there. And is it bad that I really really want to try one of those lobster rolls at 7AM??? They look so very yummy!

That shot you took from Cheers with the rain on the window looks like a portrait you would buy for your wall. I really like that!

I'm glad you had such a nice time with your mom!

I've only driven THROUGH Boston, glimpsing a few highlights here and there, so I'm a tad bit jealous. :) It sounds/looks like you had a fabulous trip with your mom, making special memories. Love Wednesday's "Prettiest Day Ever" picture.

I would have to agree wholeheartedly that ice cream does, in fact, help almost anything.

That's so funny that Riley did the whole roadside advertising thing. Weird about someone coming with that deer, but my first reaction in seeing it was that it sure would be nice for filling my emptier-than-usual freezer! Guess that makes me from Arkansas...

Okay, for some reason my first comment didn't go. So if I end up with 2, sorry. Anyway as I was saying, I love all your pictures of your trip with your mom. Boston looks so cool. I hope I can go someday and I totally want to see Wicked. Did you love it?

I've only had lobster once and I didn't really care for it. But your pictures make it look so good, so I think I need to try it again.

What a blessing to have such fun memories with your mom! But really... you two should have had some lobster. ;)

Great trip!! {poor deer}

Wow! That looks like a great week! Except for the lobster, I wouldn't have had fun eating that :)

A deer in the back? They'd do that in Oregon too, or Idaho or Montana or maybe Texas....

Loved ALL your photos! My fave is the rain photo.
Your mother is such a beautiful lady. You were so very privileged to have that time with her.
I guess I'm not surprised by the multitasking hunters. That's something my husband would do, if he were lucky enough to get a deer.

Aahh . . . beautiful Boston! It looks like you had a great time and what wonderful person to spend it with. And I hope you got your fill of lobster! I saw Wicked a couple of years ago and loved it - great show. What an interesting way to end the week!

OK, I did see all the lobster pics on Facebook and was wondering what in the world was going on. Now, I get it.

We are probably going to Boston for summer vacation next year, so keep all your favorite places in mind for me.

Was so fun seeing you in Boston. :) The deer in the back of the truck reminded me of the time my son arrived home with one in his. And ya know...they LOVE showing them off to everyone and don't forget to notice that it's still bleeding all over the truck. yuck!

Sara, somehow I get the feeling that you like lobster! LOL Wow, if only I liked it, I would have been drooling for it, after all your pictures.

Looks like you and your mom had a fantastic time together, with good food and lots of wonderful site seeing....how fun! I hope the baskin robbins helped you ease back into the dirty laundry and your normal routine. :)

Boston - who knew there was so much fun there?? Something tells me you find the fun wherever you are.
And in N. Florida you could also see the dead deer on a truck... just not yet. Season opens in Nov. : )Not that I'm interested. LOL
