Recently, I was asked to review a CD by Abe and Liza Phillip
This particular CD is for scripture memory with 26 verses from A to Z.
I don't know about you, but I find that I remember scripture (or any words) better when it is put to music....and what better way to hide God's word in your children's hearts!
Here is a little bit of what Abe and Liza say about themselves:
Can we be honest here? Are there ever days when you'd rather read the Yellow Pages than the Bible?
We understand all too well. That's why no one is more surprised than us that God would call us to the enormous task and privilege of writing songs and hymns directly from the Word. It's a very long story and maybe we can discuss it at length in heaven! : ) But the quick version is that we left behind a more comfortable life years ago when we decided to give our lives to writing songs and hymns from Scripture that celebrate the Gospel and teach the faith for the global church and for personal worship.
You can find out more about the Philips here.
Personally, I think this is a great concept.
This CD takes 26 scriptures and puts them to a wide variety of music and styles (jazz, classical, bluegrass, pop, country, rock, celtic). I thoroughly enjoyed the music, but I especially enjoyed the sweet, little voices of their children as they recite each verse before the song!
After listening to it myself, I asked one of my friends, who has small children, to listen to it too. We both agree that this CD is perfect for younger children.
And since I don't have those any more :), I am going to give this CD to one of you!
If you have little ones or grand little ones in your life, just leave me a comment and I will randomly pick a winner on Wednesday.
(US addresses only please)
Now head over to Abe and Liza's blog and check into some of their other music projects!!!

Were you really blogging at 12:01 am?! Sometimes we can only get that stuff done in the middle of the night! We have a similar CD and it is great - my 6 year old used it for school (we did one letter/verse per week) and we still sing some of the songs!
I would sooooooooooo love to have that CD for playing when I have the grands in the car or to put them so sleep at night.
Ooh, I hope I win!!! It'd be great for my little one (though I'd kinda like it for me while I'm in the hospital). :)
What a great idea. Our Awana group puts some Scripture to song, but can you ever have enough? My two little girls would love it! Thanks for the giveaway!
Well, I guess I have enough little ones to qualify! :)
I don't have any little ones either, Sara, so do not count me in.
Have a great week.
