beaming with pride...

The last several nights have had me smiling.

The kind of smile that just can't be wiped off!

...will you give me a moment to brag on my kids?

Thursday night, Jared was awarded "Most Outstanding Musician" at the HS band concert. And then Sunday night, he performed in the spring concert of the AR youth academy symphony. He goes every other Saturday for 2 hours to rehearse with the symphony....and it has paid off. They were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them.

He's the one in the middle back!

Last night was honors night at the high school.

And Jason was awarded the Christian Service and Character Scholarship from the PTF.
wow! what an honor!

As a mom, to see my kids not only excel in the gifts God has given them, but be recognized for it just makes me smile....inside and out.

And as I sat here this morning thinking about it,
it occurred to me that that is a bit how God feels when I exercise my gifts and talents that came from Him.

I didn't give my children their talents and yet I am so proud of them.
God did give each talent and gift to us.
How much more proud is He when we obediently walk the path He has laid out for us and use those gifts and talents for His glory.

Yep, I am smiling this morning...

....but I think God is smiling even bigger!

Your mama's heart must be beaming with such pride. It's such a great feeling to know that our children are walking with the Lord and in the giftings He's placed in them. You've done a great job!

I pray my kids will choose the same Godly paths yours have. I was taken aback at first by your son's Christian Service award - my kids are in public school so I hope they will be plugged in enough at church, to receive that kind of affirmation when they use their talents and gifts for God. I love what you said about God viewing us the way we view our kids - it's really interesting to turn things around and think of yourself as God's "kid," isn't it?

I love that idea of God's perspective of pride for us when we using the gifts and talents He bestowed to us. Way to go, "Sara's Kids"!

Sara, congratulations to you and your sons. His Word is faithful and true: Bring your children up in the way they shall go and when they grow old they will not depart from it.

I'm so happy for you in seeing this promise fulfilled while they are young.
