Random Dozen

Joining Linda at 2nd cup again today for Random Dozen. After reading my answers, head over to her blog and join in!!

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals, also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay? This really is one fashion statement that should NOT have come back around! I have not seen one person it looks good on!!!

2. What is your favorite pizza? PIZZA is my favorite pizza....I have not found one I didn't like!!!

3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could?[Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.] I actually can't think of one thing!! I'm sure after I read all of ya'lls I will think of lots!

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for. Our area is famous for fried catfish or BBQ........both of which I LOVE!

5. What is your current favorite snack? I have always enjoyed popcorn but lately it's been edamame..........yum!!

6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.")

A. Dancing with the Stars
B. Biggest LoserC. Survivor

It would NOT be dancing with stars.....my 2 left feet would keep me from any success! It would NOT be biggest loser.....my lack of discipline and dislike of exercise would certainly keep me from success! So it would have to be Survivor......and since last week I described myself in one word, adventurous, I think I might stand a chance there!!!

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior? hmmmm.......a 5. However, my husband might choose another number!

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until the azaleas start to bloom.

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is seeing my husband "ride" around Joe's Crab Shack on the stick horse they gave him while the whole place sang happy birthday to him! I really thought when I told them he was 50 that they would just give him a free dessert!!! He wasn't laughing........
10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward. I am not really a goal setter. I tend to be too spontaneous and easily distracted to ever finish......but I after completing my current Beth Moore study, I have a goal to be like Daniel......it is one I hope to get close to!

11. Share a thought-provoking or inspiring quote this week.

Try not to become a man of success but a man of value.
Albert Einstein

12. Name one thing that you do as a parent that you absolutely know will make your kids happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute "friend" or nomenclature that works for you. There are quite a few I could think of but being the foodie that I am, my first thought was to fix their favorite meal!! Jason: grilled flank steak, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Jared: country style rigatoni or hamburger pie. Alyssa: chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

Well I thought the birthday was funny : )

We went to an all you can eat catfish place in TN over Easter weekend and it was wonderful. That's not something you find in NJ.

Your husband is a real trooper to play along as he did.

I always think catfish sounds gross, but I like it every time I've had it.

With you all the way on the Gladiator sandals and the pizza!

And can I come and be a part of your family? You mentioned mashed potatoes twice as a way to show love to your kiddos - it doesn't get any better than that - my fave!

Love the look on your hubby's face. :)

mi esposo would never get captured on film doing something embarrassing so I commend your hubby's willingness to ride that stick hore and allow a photo to document that moment in time!!

(ps I know how you feel about finding answers...after you post you think of all kinds of grrreat stuff)

I had some gladiator sandals in the 90s - I thought I was THE STUFF in them. Heh.

Alyssa & I are of one mind - that's one of my favorite comfort food meals. Add some green beans & I'm all set!

Sara that quote is hilarious. And I can't believe that you didn't mention Jack Bauers something or other for prop that you'd like.
I want "Rachel's hair" from friends and the stylest that comes with it!!!!

adventurous...is good, especially when there's a heart-shaped jacuzzi :)

"ride" around Joe's Crab Shack on the stick horse they gave him while the whole place sang happy birthday ...my husband wouldn't even want them TO KNOW it was his birthday and doing this would NEVER have happened...I can't EVER get him to LOOSEN up. THREE cheers for YOUR hubby!! He's my NEW HERO!

For my 13th birthday at Joe's Crab Shack my twin sister and I were FORCED to strut around entire restaraunt wearing diva sunglasses and sparkly pink boas. We were NOT fashionistas -- we were softball players, tree climbers, and book worms! EMBARASSING!

I'm with Alyssa! YUM!
