We had an almost perfect Easter...
...perfect would have included my daughter being home.
But we started the day, the night before, ichating with my her.
Her birthday was on Easter and we got to watch as she opened her birthday presents!

technology is an amazing thing!!
not a great picture because she doesn't have good lighting in her room
but we thoroughly enjoyed watching her open each of her presents!
Church started out rough.....a squirrel died in the walls of the nursery during the week.
you can imagine what that smelled like!!
fortunately we had an open room and closed off that one and moved the nursery...no one was the wiser!
We had the kids worship in "big" church with their families. I love seeing the children singing along side their parents!
As they were dismissed to their classes it was so fun to see the kids reactions to our tomb at the entrance! We have an amazingly creative woman in our congregation and the kids have enjoyed watching her transform the entrance each week to go along with our curriculum!

This mannequin was donated to us a year ago and it has been MANY things!! We have definitely gotten our use out of him!
...and the younger kids made resurrection buns!
It is so much fun as a teacher to see them "get" it!
We had our youth pastor's family over for Easter dinner.
What fun it was to have small children around again to hunt eggs!!
Nothing better than a full Easter basket.
We did have one mishap as one of the boys tried to walk out on the pool cover and got soaking wet! Do you think it stopped him....nope!
My one request of their family was that their dad made his famous chocolate cake...oh.my.word.
I molded ice cream and the boys had fun picking the one they wanted!
it was the perfect day out and we enjoyed just visiting out on the deck.
I had complained that I didn't get a picture of all the ice cream before we ate it....
so my son went in and snapped the left overs.....opps!
forgot to put them back in the freezer!
I hope you all had as great an Easter as we did!
I enjoyed sharing the Easter story with the kids at church through using resurrection eggs. I so wish that I had had these when my children were young.
So, I am giving away a set to one lucky family.
If you have young children in your life, it is a fantastic way to share the Easter story with them. There is also a wonderful book you can get called "Benjamin's Box", that compliments the resurrection eggs.
Here are the rules:
Just leave me a comment telling me your favorite part of your day yesterday.
that's it.
I will post the winner Wednesday.
So happy that I serve a Risen Savior!
Happy Monday!!

The best part of the day for me was church service... I was blessed to give the communion thought & it spoke to my heart as I pray it spoke to others...
Looks like you had a wonderful day! And though the ice cream was melted - it made for a pretty cool picture! ;)
Singing to my Savior and knowing HE IS ALIVE!!!
my favorite part of yesterday...mmm, hard to choose...'Getting to sit by my dd in church'. With her being a big senior, I rarely get to have her next to me and worship! it was WONDERFUL getting to hear her sing and watch her worship :)
I wrote about my Easter reflections on my blog yesterday-would love a visit.
I'm not entering the contest but I do want to let you know about my first blog giveaway. It will mostly appeal to crafters and quilters.
Have a blessed week!
Those are so great! I would love to win it! I would have to say the best part of my day was taking the boys to church...listening to a great sermon...the carnival in the church parking lot afterwards...flowering the cross...seeing friends that I had not seen in a while...coming home to have dinner with my parents and sister...yea I guess the entire day!
We had a wonderful church service yesterday and a great time with my family at my sister's house.
We don't have young kids at home anymore, but I know our kid's class at church would love the resurrection eggs.
Sara, it sounds like you guys really had an awesome day. Love the pictures of the boys hunting eggs.
The favorite part of my day yesterday was taking the Lord's Supper, and just knowing that because of His blood and His resurrected body I have life!
Without a doubt - my favorite part of the day was just spending time with my family and getting to know my nieces and nephews as the wonderful people they are!
My favorite part of the day was the church service. My husband was up front singing and I enjoyed the service with my son. The music and message were sooo good! I got a tissue out right before church started; I knew I'd need it and I did! We end each Easter service with the Hallelujah Chorus - just awesome! What a blessing to celebrate our Risen Savior!!!
favorite part of yesterday? was sitting in the church atrium to watch the service on tv's since it was a packed house. now that makes ya grin! so good to see so many people hearing the GREAT news!
and um, hope this doesn't boot me outta the giveaway, but you sara...are gonna be an AWESOME grandma someday. just saying!
What a great idea! I have never seen those eggs before!
My favorite part of yesterday was tucking my four year old daughters into bed last night. We said our prayers, and our little nightly routine phrase. THEN, I said to Abby first, "God is risen!" and she piped up, "He is RISEN INDEED!" Laney followed suit. God has SO blessed me! I don't deserve it!
Oops...just in case I win...

Looks like you had a wonderful day.
We've loved the resurrection eggs and still do them every Easter. My kids like traditions!
(I obviously don't need to be in the drawing!)
Oh. my. word. That chocolate cake looks divine with your ice cream! Yummo! Great pictures!
My girls would love those eggs! Nator asked me to buy them for her this year... but I didn't. :(
Our favorite thing was having my mother.in.law share Easter memories with us. Family. Fun. Memories.
yes, technology is a wonderful thing. How neat to be able to watch it all.
Those resurrection buns look yummy.
My favorite part of yesterday was taking communion at church. Such a powerful moment on Easter!
I so enjoyed sharing Easter service with the grand-boy. I love the Resurrection Rolls idea. We're def doing that one. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
My favorite part of the day was our church service--but it might be a tie with the news that my brother in law was released from the hospital after life-threatening complications of leukemia.
My favorite part was just being with family. That never gets old!
I've seen these eggs, I think they use them in our children's church. I'd love to have a set for Savannah! :) Thanks, Sara!
Favorite part, huh? Well, I'm sad to say that my favorite part was bed time. I did not feel well at all yesterday. Well, okay lunch with friends after church with friends was wonderful despite my headache. Does that count? :0)
I agree, technology is great! :-) We've done Christmas via the internet with our kids.
What fun to have little ones around for Easter Sunday! Great photo of you, too, by the way. My new glasses look similar to yours (I think; it's been so long since I started this process that I've sort of forgotten exactly what they look like. LOL)
Have a great week!
what handsome little fellows! looks like y'all had a wonderful time of fellowship
and that cake, oh my that cake looks so yummy! i think i just gained a couple pounds HA!
