Random Dozen

I am joining Linda at 2nd cup for Random Dozen today. So glad she kept this up for 2010. I love learning more about everyone through her questions!

Enjoy!

1. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being a cranky-baby-hissy-fitter, how much of a complainer are you? Wow, I don't view myself as a complainer. More a 1/2 glass full kinda girl. but if I am truly honest and listen to myself, I would have to say at least a 3-4.

2. When someone else is talking, do you listen, or are you thinking about what you're going to say in response? Depends on who I am talking to and how much I have going on.....my mind is constantly going. I really try to be a good listener but sometimes it doesn't work.

3. I just deleted 1062 messages from my email account. Do you have any plans for a clean sweep this month--of anything? Nope, except maybe all the sugar from my house!

4. Tell us about your perfume. Was it a gift? What does it remind you of? Do you have a signature scent? I have worn the same perfume for 15 years.....Red Door. I sometimes try new fragrances, but always come back to it.

5. What is your best organizing tip for the new year? coming from an unorganized woman...I don't have one. But I have a good tip that I just learned works......if someone in your house leaves gum in their pants and it gets ALL OVER your dryer, take a dryer sheet and soak it in fabric softener then use it to scrub off the gum.....it will come right off! My son had the dryer clean in less than 30 minutes!!!

6. What is your favorite comic strip? Hands down.....Zits!!! It epitomizes our life with our teenage son!!!

7. Do you sleep with a fluffy or flat pillow? I can not sleep with a flat pillow. Mine is a memory foam one.

8. What color is your kitchen? Why did you choose that color? Exotic honey....yep, sounds...well....exotic, doesn't it?! I love color. It's a very rich and warm color.

9. What’s the most interesting bumper sticker you’ve seen? one that pertains to us now...clear the road, I'm sixteen!. And because I really dislike tailgaters...The closer you get, the slower I go.

10. Do you prefer an expensive writing tool or whatever is lying around? (Are you a Montblanc or a Papermate?)What ever is lying around. It is a waste of money to buy me an expensive writing tool because I will promptly lose it. My husband on the other hand loves his space pens!

11. What chore doesn’t feel like a chore – you just enjoy it (at least most of the time)? cooking....I love it. Bet you didn't know that!

12. If your parents often repeated themselves, what is something one of them said more than once? Wear your seat belt......way back then it wasn't a law.

Happy Wednesday!!!

Zits is one of my favs too and I'm noticing several others like it as well! I have a 17 year old son so I can usually relate to whatever is going on in the comic!!

The the tradition of Barbara Johnson, I keep a "Joy Box". It has more Zits cartoons in it than anything else! At my house, I especially relate to the ones where the Mom is talking, the son is listening to his Mp3 player, and continues to nod his head and respond "uh huh", later commenting that he hoped she wasn't saying anything important because he could not hear a thing she said!

I love that your son was the one to clean the dryer - if he caused the mess then sure he would be the logical choice. But so many moms just shake their heads & fix it themselves...

Zits does seem to be a fave. I loved sharing it with my 16-yr-old son and I just get the "uh-huh" or eye roll. Funny!

I WANT the bumper sticker, "The closer you get, the slower I go." So good.

Space pens last 100 years! Crazy!

ZITS is a wonderful cartoon! My son is 23 and my daughter is 16, and I've wondered for years how they keep looking in the windows of my house! I actually subscribe so that I get it each day in my email. Wonder how they manage to get from my house in Georgia to yours? Think Santa helps them? LOL!

P.S. I'm glad to see you've got scrolling blog buttons over there :)

That whole seat belt thing -- I am amazed when I look back that we survived all those cross-country trips!
