Birthday brain fog.....

After trying to wrap my brain around the fact that I am now in the last year of my forties all day brain is completely in a fog. I'm sure the copious amounts of chocolate cake I ingested (thanks to our youth pastor who makes cake evah!) didn't have anything to do with it!
But seriously, I can't possibly be almost 50........50! I don't feel over 30 on the inside....okay, maybe 35 but not a half a century old....... you see why I decided to grab this meme I saw at Linda's!

Have you ever. . .

1. Been pulled over? Yes. 3 times in my life. Once, the cop gave me the choice of a ticket or a lecture. I, of course, took the the end of the 20+ minute lecture, I was wishing I had taken the ticket!!!

2. Dyed your hair? yep, every 4 weeks!! I went gray early.....too early.

3. Pulled an all-nighter? many times during finals in college....they always killed me! And several other times while working with teens at church!

4. Fallen down in public? I am sure the answer to this is yes....I am a klutz, but I can't think of one at the moment......brain fog, remember!

5. Broken a bone? I broke the top of my foot once when I dropped my briefcase on it.

6. Had braces? Yes. And I thank my parents regularly for it......especially when looking at pre-braces pictures!

7. Built something out of wood? a bird house at home depot with my kids.

8. Been to Disneyland? yes, many times as a in AZ, CA was our vacation spot. And have been a couple of times as an adult

9. Eaten a Krispy Kreme donut? oh yes! Boston creme filled is my fav!

10. Screamed during a scary movie? yes! Once while watching Halloween in college, the guy next to me reached over his girlfriends shoulder (she was sitting in front of him) for some popcorn. She screamed and through the whole bucket in the air......everyone around her screamed too!

11. Been to a professional sporting event? yes, cowboys football and many base ball games. We are a sports family and try to go whenever we can.

12. Slept till noon? rarely, I am an early riser......well, my body is an early riser, my brain doesn't get up till later.

13. Been arrested? never.

14. Opened Christmas presents early? Never!! I love, love surprises and would never even peek at a present!!! One of my birthday presents (in a gift bag) sat on the counter all day today....I never peeked!!

15. Rolled down a hill? yes!!

16. Toilet papered someone’s house? yep.......more times as an adult!

17. Laughed so hard you cried? Yep! Need to do that more often.

18. Gotten seasick? I, fortunately, don't get sea sick because I love being on the water!

19. Shared a sucker with your dog? no.....yuck!

20. Been in an accident? yes, in college twice (others driving) and once my husband and I got rear ended.

21. Ridden in a limo? yes, a boy I was dating once tried to impress me by picking me up in a limo to go to a worked.

22. Had a pet fish? My brother did growing up and for a short while my youngest did....emphasis on short while!

23. Been ice skating? yes, and I am not very good at it.

24. Locked your keys in the car? I am so good at this. very thankful now for keyless entry!

25. Ridden a horse? yes, but I am not fond of horses.......and they know it!

So tell me: Have YOU ever?

Had to laugh at your emphatic response to 'rolling down a hill' 'cause i love to, and the last time I did was well into my 50's. The last time I wanted to was this week :)

About cribbage. I don't play, yet...will have to learn slowly, not with these guys. i love card games too. Nertz is a favorite.

About the ducks. With the Koch-men it's all about the hunt. But they cannot waste anything, so we take most of them because the others, the wives especially, will NOT eat duck. We're the missionary-type, so we can handle it. I'll be looking for good recipes.
Some is donated to food pantries or missions.

If you think the brain fog is bad now...
Haven't you heard, 50s are the new 30s.
Or something like that.

Hey Happy Birthday!! I understand EXACTLY what you're going through. I will be 50 on Sunday. :( This is the first age that has ever made me feel bad. I never would have guessed you were over 35!!

So I guess I'll play this for my birthday too. Maybe Monday so I'm not late with my P365. :)

Happy Birthday!! I read a birthday card that said, "Birthdays...can't live without them". That has helped me face them a little more bravely.
