Meetings, Marriages & Memories

Well, I missed joining up last week with Rachel for the MM&M carnival. I am sorry if I left any of you hanging after telling you I fell in the lake!!! But last week was just too busy for me to get the post written.

If you are here for the 1st time, you can read part 1 here and part 2 here.

Now, for the next part of the story........

After that camping trip, Steve and I were basically inseparable. Our relationship just felt right and easy. After having been such good friends for so long, it seems like we skipped over all those "dating games" you sometimes play. We seemed to know each other so well.

And it got very serious, very quickly.

But this was my "steady eddy". You know, the one that sometimes needed a little push to get things going!! And I knew he was still worried about having to move away for his job. However, I was in love with this man and I knew in my heart that he was the one for me.

So, about 1 month after our first date, Steve was over at my apartment........

.......and I proposed to him!

Well..... basically I told him that I loved him and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

Unfortunately, Steve didn't jump up and down, didn't get excited, didn't say "yes, me too!".......he just kind of shook his head in agreement. I really don't remember any reaction from him at all. Later, he would tell me that he thought I was just infatuated with him.....and would get over it.

but I am not easily deterred...I knew I would marry this man.

He would realize this too, about 1 month later!!

..........come back next monday for the rest of the story!

That's so cute! I didn't actually propose but Ivan has often said I should be in sales 'cause I'm a great "closer" :-) We'd only been dating 2 weeks when he was especially quiet one evening and I asked him what he was thinking. He said, "I'm thinking I'd like to ask you to marry me but I guess it's too soon." Without missing a beat I asked, "How long do we have to wait?" LOL
