Project 365 Week 9

Week NINE. We are sailing along! You will notice that I listed my pictures backwards this week....just an indication of the week I have had. However, it ended on a wonderful note as I spent it with 7 of my 9 BFFs (I'm still there). I have known these ladies for 19 years and we have gotten together the same weekend every year for the last 16. These women love the Lord with all their hearts and they have spent the weekend encouraging me, lifting me up, directing me to scripture and plain making me laugh......I love them!

Here is my week 9:

Saturday

one of my friends son's was in the state basketball championship just 1 hour from here. So went sacrificed and went today. He is in the green jumping with the ball!

Unfortunately they lost by 5 points

Taking a break

I know I have not posted since Sunday, but I have decided that I need a blogging break. I have had several things dropped on my plate over the last week and just need time to wrestle them out with God and sort them out.

I will be spending the weekend with some great friends and will be back for Project 365 on Sunday.

Project 365 Week 8

Week 8.

Can you believe we have been taking pictures for 2 months now? As I look at them all together in a file, I realize how glad I am that I have committed to this!! Already, I see things I would have forgotten!

I just want to say thank you to those of you who have prayed for my Aunt. We had a very sweet visit with her yesterday and today...you'll see in the pictures!!! I would ask that, if God brings it to mind, you would pray for her healing, but most importantly that God would give her the strength and endurance to walk this path He has placed her on. Thank you so much!

When I starting cleaning today, I found that Jason had totally cleaned and organized my utility closet and cabinet while I was gone.

You have no idea what a BIG DEAL this is because I don't have a before picture!
It was so bad, I wouldn't have shown you the before picture!

Friday

We drove to Dallas today to see my Aunt. Alyssa came from Abilene to meet us there.
What a blessing to see her but heart breaking as she cried when we walked in and cried when we left.....that was hard. She looks great, but is very frustrated by not being able to communicate. I can only imagine how it must feel to know what you want to say, but not be able to get it out. Even with that, we had such a sweet time with her!

Saturday

Today we spent time filling my Aunt in on our lives. I snuggled in with her in bed and showed her my pictures from my vacation. She may not be able to talk, but she can definitely get her point across.....like when she scolded me for showing too much cleavage in a picture! :)

I loved that my children jumped right onto her bed to share the things they brought with her!! We had such a wonderful time with her and were able to gather around her and have a family prayer time! But it broke my heart to leave......I love her so much and seeing her cry as we left was nearly too much for me!

I am so thankful that I know my Lord holds her in the palm of His wonderful hands!!!

Friday Fill-ins

1. Give me a few minutes notice and I'll be ready to go.

2. Whenever I doubt, God's word brings me focus.

3. I wish and pray that God would restore my Aunt's speech.

4. ALL the food on the cruise was the last thing I ate that was utterly delicious.

5. To live in this world I must hold tight to my Savior.

6. Other than this one, I can't remember who is the last blog I commented on ..I'm almost 50 ya know.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to driving and seeing my Aunt in Dallas, tomorrow my plans include loving on my Aunt and then driving home and Sunday, I want to worship God and make it through a long day of meetings!

Wordless Thursday.....

Oh wait......wordless was yesterday!

However, I sit here this morning wrestling with God over some issues in my life and have no words......

.......only the grunts and groans of the wrestling match.



So, I will leave you with some things that He is laying on my heart through my bible study and I am wrestling through:

....God wants you to surrender completely to him..... not an assignment. Your calling is to be abandoned to Him

....no matter what your "only have" is, when you bring all of your "only have" to Jesus, it's huge!!

....Look at life from God's perspective, not man's perspective.

....to readjust our vision, Christ may choose to rearrange our surroundings



Please Lord, shatter my present perspective and show me the reality of YOU!!!

Wordless Wednesday

.....yes, I am still trying to hang on to it!!!

I need a vacation from my vacation!

I know I will not be getting any sympathy from that comment!!

But really, we played hard and I am tired.....it's a good tired, however it will take some time to get my body and mostly my mind back in the swing of things.

Coming home is always hard, isn't it?! Back to reality, laundry, the demands of life......if only we could spend each day in a deck chair.........one can dream!

Since my mind is still in the Caribbean, I decided to share a few videos with you. I appologize that they are sideways, but I don't know how to rotate videos. First, I need to set up these two. On the very first cruise we went on 5 years ago, they showed a video the last night of the week. My friends and I sat there and tried to decide whose cruise it was showing.......we had not experienced more than 1/2 the things on the video!!! Obviously there was a whole other cruise going on after midnight that we never saw!!!

So, we all decided that on this cruise it would be our goal to get on the video!! (we failed, but had a good time trying) The 1st night, we went to a game called "War of the sexes". They picked 5 guys and girls from the audience. Of course my husband and our friend Joe jumped at the chance to be in this (remember our goal was to be on the video....you have to participate). They had each group do different things like trivia, making paper airplanes and seeing how far they flew, etc to earn points. This first video is my husbands attempt at hula hooping....

I couldn't believe it!! He couldn't hula hoop!!

This next one was the last thing they had them do. It was called "bum chips". You had to carry a poker chip between your cheeks and drop it in a bucket. Our friend, Joe, goes first. You are supposed to go one at a time, but another guy (who had a few too many) cut him off and he had to hold the chip (in his bum) till the guy got out of the way. Then my husband goes......

........let me just say this up front ladies.......

...............he is mine! You can't have him, he is all mine!!

.........of course, the ladies won!!!

Project 365 Week 7

Here we are.....week SEVEN!! It's hard to believe we only have 45 more weeks to go! ha!

I am spending the day today in the airport getting caught up on all ya'lls 365 pictures from last week. Internet was so expensive on the ship. So, I may not comment on all of them, but I will be visiting them all before tomorrows are posted. All of our flights are delayed...I have a feeling we will be getting home very late.....so I'm putting this together early!

Having a blast

Just a quick note to let ya'll know that we are having a blast!!! The weather hasn't been the greatest so far, but that has not stopped the fun. I have posted a few pics on my other blog...takes too long to post them in both places. So, click on my picture with the camera on my side bar and you can go see them.

Update: my aunt is still in the hospital but stable. She is getting good care and they are currently trying to figure out why she is having so many strokes. thanks for the prayers!!!

Well, 3 days down...yikes! It is going way too fast! Today we will be in Jamaica!

Project 365 Week 6

Here we are at week SIX! Does the week goes as fast for you?

As you can see, I am posting this early. I am leaving in the morning at 6am, and won't be here to post on Sunday. I have finally mastered Mr. Linky, but have not figured out how to post to my blog at a later date/time. Oh well, one thing at a time!

I will be getting on-line while gone to see all your pictures, however, I will not be blogging for the next week....I'll be getting some much needed rest! I might post a few pictures just to tease share with you.....cause I'm nice like that! :)
