turn your eyes......this may be hard for some of you to see

None of my kids have a big sweet tooth.

I think only my husband really does and it is mainly for chocolate.

In fact, when my daughter was small you could hold in front of her a chocolate chip cookie in one hand and a prune in the other........she would take the prune......in a flash!!!  I am the same way....my vice is really chips an salsa!!

So I was not too surprised to come into my kitchen today and find this....

Yep, that is the Red Velvet Cake that I made last Saturday.  It has been sitting on the counter for a WEEK available to any one who wants some.  Now you have to realize the birthday boy has been sick all week, but he didn't get sick till Tuesday and  there are 4 other people living in this house.

It is half eaten!

This was it's fate this morning........turn your eyes if you have a sweet tooth!!

Good bye Red Velvet Cake....see you again in April for my husbands birthday!!

Project 365.  Hope you are still taking pictures.  Don't forget about my giveaway that is happening on Sunday.  I am giving away this.

I absolutely love mine!!!  You are going to want one!!!  So get those pictures together and come back here on Sunday for Project 365 , join up with Mr. Linky and share your photos!!  I will draw a name from the list and post the winner on Monday!!!

BTW, we got an email this morning that the kids made it to Italy fine.  No news about Jason and I am going with No News is Good News!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Oh, that is heartbreaking...I would've had to do the same thing. Since its just Josh and I, I rarely make any baked goods 'cause the majority would just go to waste.

SO happy to hear that Jason should be doing ok! I said a few prayers for him yesterday...hopefully he has a really great time.

The cake--it is bleeding and screaming for me to rescue it, and I can't ... get ... to ... it! Argh! Did you post your recipe for this and I missed it? I've been taking my pics this week!

Just catching up on your week! I have been too busy to read. Strep is such nasty stuff! I am sure you will stop by and read my sad story. I am sure he will be so thankful that you let him go.

We throw out cake at my house more than I care to admit. I am not normally a cake person unless it is pistacio cake or banana cake! I eat those for breakfast when no one is looking! So yummy!

That would never happen in my house. I can't bake much because it gets eaten much too quickly!

Hate to see it wasted, but better than on my waist! lol

Girl, you could have boxed that up and sent it to me:) That is always sad to see something so good go to waste.

Sad....just plain sad. Poor cake never stood a chance. It wouldn't have lasted more than a day in this house.

I have wasted many a' lovely desserts down the disposal because the picture looked more appetizing than it actually was! Sad!
BUT -- I've wasted FAR more cereal and milk. WHY -- WHY!!!!! do kids fill their bowls to the rim, pour on the milk and then take 2 bites? Why do we even but the boxes in the first place?

.... I'd heard about Project 365 somewhere a few weeks ago and actually started a brand new blog just for it (link in my menubar). I'll link up on Sunday.

GREAT to hear good news from Italy.
God is good!

Sister, I'm with you...chips and salsa all the way! I do enjoy a good dessert as well, but I those darn salty snacks are my downfall every time.
This made me laugh...so dramatic, with the cake meeting its untimely death with the disposal. :)

I am in awe that a child would take a prune over chocolate! I love it! I'm such a chocolate lover that I would have had that cake (which looks delicious BTW) eaten in a few days!
