Tired and behind

Well, it has been a crazy week.  I usually only work 2 days a week, but this week I have worked every day.......I'm tired and very much behind on getting ready for Christmas.

I saw this meme on Greg's blog and thought it was fun!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? – Hot chocolate, especially if it is a salted carmel hot chocolate from Starbucks!!!!  I do not like egg nog!

2. Does Santa wrap the presents or just sit them under the tree? – Since I have older kids, Santa is busy visiting all the younger kiddos, so all the gifts are wrapped!

3. Lights on house / tree are colored or white? – White on house, but the tree is multi colored!

4. Do you have mistletoe? – Sadly....no

5. When do you put your decorations up? The weekend after Thanksgiving.

6. Favorite Holiday Dish (Excluding dessert)? – Prime rib

7. Favorite Christmas memory as a child? – making Christmas candy with my mom or Christmas morning....my dad made it so fun!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? – Can't remember

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? – My kids open their gifts to each other on Xmas eve.  When they were small I would take them to the dollar store to pick out their gifts and we didn't want them to get "lost" among all the other gifts on christmas.  So we started opening them on Christmas eve.

10. How do you decorate your tree? – We have lots of different ornaments.  Mine and my husbands from our childhood, our first ornaments when married, and new ones each year for the kids

11. SNOW. Love it or dread it? – I have moved to the south and do not miss the snow one bit!!!  It is pretty to look at but I really did not like living in it.

12. Can you ice skate? – yes, on my bum

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? – my love letters from my husband each year!

14. What is the most important thing about Christmas to you? – Spending time with family and discussing the real meaning of Christmas.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? - english toffee or red velvet cake

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? – my children writing letters to each other and reading them on Christmas eve

17. What tops your Christmas tree? – An angel.

18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving gifts? – giving for sure

19. Favorite Christmas Song? – Rudolph the red nosed reindeer

20. Candy Canes, Yum or Yuck? - I can take or leave them so neither

21. What do you want for Christmas? – time with my family

22. Do you attend an annual Christmas party? – Our staff and elders have a party each year

23. Do you usually dress up for Christmas Eve or wear PJ's? – Well, we go to church on Christmas eve. So I think if the pastor's wife showed up in PJs it would be a little weird!!!

24. Do you own a Santa Hat? – Yes, everyone in my family has their own!

25. Who do you normally spend Christmas with? – my immediate family, but my parents are flying in this year!

26. What is your favorite Christmas decoration and why? – I have way too many favorites, but if I had to pick it would be a large steel nail.  it reminds us of the true focus of this season...that Jesus Christ came to die for our sins.

Now, what would your answers be?

Sorry you've had such a crazy week!

I have never had prime rib that I can recall, but I think I'm missing out. Do you make this every Christmas?

Fun meme...I might have to steal it since next week will be crazy and I know I won't have time to write.

Every time I read your blog, I see how much we have in common; today is no different.

I don't miss snow either. We have an angel on top of our tree. We attend services Christmas eve. And on and on.

I loved the answer to #23. I think they meant after church though, :)

Sadly, #26 threw me for a second but then it hit me right between the eyes.

Thanks for taking the challenge.
