Many, many years ago, my Aunt gave us a wonderful gift for Christmas. Everyone in the family loved the gift and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, especially the small elementary aged children..........until we heard this for hours on end.......
yes, I know it is sideways, but couldn't figure out how to change it...
Did I mention there were elementary aged kids involved? I'm sure you can imagine how many times....per minute...that we heard this at full volume!!!!!
It wasn't long before I hated greatly disliked this gift!
In Indiana, it got banned to the basement and the "kids area" of the house. But then we moved to Arkansas. Last Christmas, as I was taking out my decorations, I saw this santa and discretely left it in the box and put it back in the closet.
However, it wasn't long before a teenage boy realized it was missing and went looking for it. Said boy realized that his mom had left it packed away on purpose and decided to place it in a very prominent place in the house.....for all to see and hear.
Well, I was not deterred. While said boy was in school, I hid the Santa in his room knowing that it would not be found among the junk clutter in his room. Unfortunately, said boy is much more aware of what is in his room than I thought, found the Santa and hid it among MY junk in my room......I am not so aware and it took me a while to discover him!
And so began a war of hiding the Santa for the other one that lasted until it was time to put the decorations away.
This year, some one found the Santa right off and put it on the table. My son didn't say a word about hiding it again this year. So, before I left for Florida, I hid it in a very secretive spot in his room. With all that happened with my aunt, I forgot about the Santa completely. Well, Sunday as I was searching for something I could wear to church, I pushed aside some clothes and found this....
On a closer look, can you read the note?
