Doors.....

While I was in Italy, I was totally taken with doors. Their doors were so beautiful and each one was different and unique!  Several of you commented on how much you liked doors too, so I decided to post my favorites from my trip!  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Just beautiful! I've always wanted to go to Italy. Your trip there has reaffirmed that even more.

Oh, Lord....please allow me a trip to Italy while I'm still sane. :)

Hugs,

Ohilda

Can you tell me what it was like to touch them? Did they feel as heavy and solid as they looked? Smooth or worn? Oh, I loved the one of the church with the white and (lightblue) I'm going to spell this wrong but exquisite.
*sigh* I hope I can someday see and feel them.
PS I'm totally sensory.
I would ask what it smelt like but that might freak you out.
Thank you for sharing.

The age of most of them (or all of them perhaps) is quite impressive as well. The sixth and seventh ones are my favorites. Thanks for sharing!

I have SO been waiting for the pictures.

omigosh!
Beautiful beyond words. I'm going to share these with my husband.

Funny story:
We were married at a Chapel on the campus of Northwester College in St. Paul, MN. The Chapel (and entire campus for that matter) used to be part of a catholic nunnery (or something). Most of the architecture was imported FROM ITALY! e.g. marble pillars, stained glass, etc. And yes. The DOORS.

This was my husband-to-be's comment upon our first visit to the chapel to talk to the wedding planner:

"Wow. Ya' can't get doors like that at Menards."

I will remind him of this for always. It just makes me giggle.
