Can you please explain?!

Can you please explain why boys can NOT keep socks around for longer than a few weeks?!!!

It seems that I buy socks for one boy....I even permanent mark the bottom with their initials (helps in sorting!).....and by 3-4 weeks later they are asking me to buy them socks because they don't have any and their father is not sharing his any more!!!! I have socks that I have had for years and yet my sons can not keep socks around for more than a few weeks!

They don't have time to wear out because they just disappear!

Now I know that there is that large little black hole in the bottom of every washing machine.  It nabs one sock at a time to try to drive me crazy.  But this is more than that!  They literally can not find any socks to wear, not that it is that cold here in AR, but the kids do need socks!

Of course, if I would just walk around the house, inside and out, I would find a certain, not to be mentioned son's socks all over the place.  It seems that where ever that boy is when he gets the need to free his feet is where his socks remain.....until they just disappear.

I have decided that the black hole not only exists in our washing machines, but also in our houses.  It moves from room to room grabbing what socks it can.

It's purpose?!

The loss of my sanity............... and quite possibly a contract with Walmart!

I know exactly wear all the socks are over here. In thier drawers. My kids don't wear socks. I have to fight with them when they go outside. Maybe the BOYS should have to buy their own socks? Hum?

I think that boys especially have the tendency of taking off socks and dropping them wherever. I doubt if they all end up in the wash.

I feel your pain, friend! I think that is a problem that faces the moms of boys everywhere...I know it happens at my house!

Oh Sara,

Just know that it's not just boys. I have a 14 year old daughter who just cannot keep socks for the life of her!

Hugs,

Ohilda

Do they wear P.J.'s with feet?
:-)
We find a lot of socks in the dog bed and in the back seat of the car.

Go figure!

Hey there, I came across your blog in my hopping around this afternoon from a comment you left on Mocha with Linda. Your post about your boy’s socks brought back memories of when my son was still at home.

To make a long story short, once my son was gainfully employed and living at home and going to collage, we made a deal with him. We would provide the necessary things such as tooth paste etc. but if he wanted anything above and beyond my usual Wal-Mart brand items then he had to pay for them himself. I also repeatedly kept asking him not to leave his dirty socks and underwear on the floor of the bathroom.

This was also the main bathroom that gets used by visitors that come over as well. I decided that after I had told him at least a dozen times to pick up his discarded underwear and socks from the floor that rather than depositing them in his room I simply began to collect them and placed them in a trash bag in the back of my closet.

This went on for several months, I eventually thought he would come and ask me if I had seen any of his underwear or sock, but instead when he would run out he would just go to the Wal-Mart and buy more, which in turn he would leave on the floor and then I would pick them up and put in my now overflowing trash bags in the back of my closet. A vicious cycle, I know!!! I ended up with two trash bags full of his sock and underwear. When he moved out into his own apartment I gave him his two trash bags of underwear and sock as a house warming present.

I am not sure if that has anything to do with the washing machine eating the socks but at least it involved socks.

Blessings
Robin

Why don't you write a letter to the government and explain your horrible situation. I bet they will send you a billion dollar suplus check so you can shop and buy a year's supply of socks on Black Friday. It would be good for the economy.
