Somethings never change though.......here are our conversations over the last week...
her: mom, please, please don't serve pork while I am home
me: why?
her: That is all the school is serving...pork in various forms..I can not eat any pork!!! Red meat please!
me: wow! that must be bad if you are already sick of something in the cafeteria!!
her: you have no idea! Oh, I am also getting a lot of requests for "rum" cake (aka pound cake that I wrapped in a rum cloth for travel, only I got a little carried away with the amount of rum I soaked the cloth in.......ya)
me: no promises because I have a crazy week
her: crazy schmazie! You can make it and teach me how at the same time! (in other words, you can make it)
hmmmmm......so do you think she will get a cake to take back with her?
If you say no..........you are not a mother of a college student that lives 8 hours away!!!

I love her so much! You have a beautiful and wonderful daughter and I am just so glad she has touched my family and our lives!

So sweet. Boy, can I ever relate. Mine came home today so that we could celebrate her birthday. We ate a Ruby Tuesday's. She liked the purse I bought her. I meant to give her a little check before she left, but we both forgot, so I'll have to mail it to her!
