J: mom, Mrs. Sullivan (band director) is really sick and has to go home. The band still wants to go on, so I am going to have to take over (he is the drum major).
me: What about your job?
J: I already got someone to work for me and I got Jared a ride home. Could you come up here early at 6:00 and help the kids get their uniforms and sashes on?
me: .....absolutely (completely in awe)
Now this is our school's first marching band. Most of the kids have never marched before and this is only their second time to do it at a football game. This was a huge job to take over! Plus he had to direct them in the stands and get them to follow him. He did an amazing job!! I was sooo proud of him as I listened and the band sounded stronger than ever, they really stepped up.
But what amazed me the most was my son. When put in the hot seat, he didn't shrink away from it but confidently stepped up to the plate....and took care of all the details!!!!
I heart that boy!!
Here are some fun pics and a short video of the night.......enjoy!!!
This is the last piece that they perform......so fun!!!

I just clicked that little "Follow This Blog" link and added myself to your following! I've enjoyed following your family through IKE. . . and I admire anyone who takes the time to chronicle a story with actual photographs. That's TIME CONSUMING DEDICATION.

Today is the 1st time I had to get on the computer. WOW. They look like they are veterans... How much influence did Jason have in writing the show? It looks like someone who's had some experience wrote the corography (have no idea how to spell that word) When are they going to perform again? I would like to plan my trip around seeing them... Let me know. Love you!
Very impressive! You should be proud!!!
Oh and I have a son named Jared too:)

Hey, your comments are disabled on the post above. What I wanted to say is, "Yes, is layin' down the jams." Because I'm cool like him.
