Gustav hits Arkasas

Well, we really thought that Gustav would not make it as far north as Little Rock, but it did.....in a big way!!! The rain started yesterday, but the winds, oh the winds, started yesterday afternoon. It was a crazy night!

This morning as I was sitting in my family room having my quiet time, we heard a huge bang! I tried to look out and see what caused it, but it was dark. As it got lighter, it looked like everything in our yard was fine.

OUR yard was fine, but not our neighbors.......it blew a huge tree on top of their house!

What you don't see in the picture are the sheets of rain coming down. We are supposed to get 5-10 inches, but it looks like more. Our pool is full to the top!!!

The funny part....yes, you have to find the laughter in it.......is when I called to see if they were ok. This is our conversation:

me: are you guys okay?

neighbor: oh yes, but our new roof is leaking

me: is that from the tree?

neighbor: what tree?

me: uhhhhh.........the one on your roof!

neighbor: What?!!!

My neighbor's husband left before it happen and she slept through it!! We had a good laugh over that. Please pray for them, that they can get it under control before too much rain gets in their house. Thanks!!!

........got to go build an ark.........

I am glad you guys are okay! You forget a hurricane doesn't just disappear when it hits land!

Oh wow. Sorry you're having such a time of it, but we were a little disappointed we didn't even get any of the rain from it in Central Texas. We have been bone dry.

Thanks for your prayers for my mom. It's been a long exhausting week. They've been successful in getting her a little more settled and stabilized.
