Project 365 - Week 37

 Week 37.

Well, I have just about decided that my life is never going to slow down.  seriously, this.is.crazy.

With my kids out of the house, my commitments should have cut back, but I feel like I have even more than before.....sheesh!  But.....I'm also realizing that maybe I just function better that way.  Either way, God and I have had a few chats and a couple of items will be coming off the plate in the near future.

Here's my week:
Sunday
Yes, this is the same picture as Saturday, but after church we spent 7 more hours in foster care training.  Today was pretty tough.  Not just because of the length, but the content....very hard.

Monday
I have found another great benefit to empty nest.....when your day is crazy and you didn't have time to cook dinner, you and your husband can just decide to go have sushi!!!  I think I may be doing this a lot!  :)

Tuesday
Today started with a prayer time at our church as we remembered 9/11 and prayed for our country and it's leaders.

Tonight was our monthly Women's ministries, Apples of Gold.
We each brought a tea cup from home and shared the story that went along with it.  Then we had a woman from Teavana, a local tea shop, teach us all about tea.  It was so interesting!!!
Every one took home a "tea ball"
It's peached tea woven to look like a nut when it's put in hot water to steep, it turns into a flower.  How cool is that?!!

Wednesday
Large prints of our family pictures came in today!!!
Can't wait to hang them!

Thursday
 Getting ready for fostering!
Got some great items at a friend's garage sale!

Friday
spent some porch time with friends tonight.  It was so good and much needed.  It was raining and cool and the conversation was great.

Saturday
We are having a blast keeping our Youth pastor's foster baby for the weekend while they host a youth retreat.  She has stolen my heart and I can't wait to do this on a regular basis!! She is so sweet and inquisitive, but as I watch her it makes me very sad to think that her mama is missing all this....praying for her parents tonight, that they can successfully do what is required of them to get their children back.

So how was your week?  Are you ready for fall?

I know what you mean about being busy... the funny thing is that I am busier now than I was working a full time job outside of the house.
Your recent family pictures turned out so GREAT!
Have a blessed week!

Wow you have been very busy. Loved the baby, she is precious. That peach tea thing looked amazing. Is there some kind of directions for it. That would be awesome for a women's gathering. You struck pay dirt on the baby/fostering stuff. Have a great week.

Great week! 14 months is awesome!! I know what you mean about the content being hard. You KNOW there are bad things in the world, be we spent a lot of time in our safe little bubbles and don't have to think about it too often, especially how common it is for kids to be dealing with stuff. So very sad! BUT, we're doing SOMEthing, other than saying "how sad", and we have to trust that the effort will not be without benefits, one kid at a time.

So happy to be sharing this journey with you!!

One stage of life ends and another begins, and I've never seen it slow down :) It's just a different kind of busy!

Looks like a fun ladies meeting! I have a friend who is passionate about tea and she's taught me a lot. Still like my coffee though :)

Ahhhh, I love cool, rainy times with friends! There's just something so special about it... like the rain blocks out the rest of the world and the time seems more intimate, the fellowship closer.

That first paragraph could be mine!
And Kim's last sentence about the rain, I might just steal it for my vacation story.
The tea flower is amazing!
Today we enjoyed more of the fresh salsa i learned to make, from you!

Life has definitely picked up the pace for me too - but, so far I'm enjoying it immensely.

That little girl is so precious...what a great introduction to the adventures you have ahead of you. I'd love to hear more about all your adventures, in reference to the comment you left on my blog. =)

Your comments about thinking you'd have more time brought back memories of when I was able to stay home for a brief time with my two girls. I thought I would have more time, too but they kept me busy, lol. They are now in their 20s and they still keep me busy! Glad you found some porch time to relax! God Bless!

Love the tea talk! Such a cool idea. I really need to join a women's group of some kind :)

I do NOT need to keep toddlers - but I'm sure that you guys are GREAT at that. So glad there are folks like you who step up for these roles.

The whole post was wonderful! Love the family pics, look forward to the day that sushi can constitute a meal, and the tea flower was so cool!

I don't know why, but in my mind I imagined you fostering older kids. I guess because we've become bloggy friends and I've only "known" you with older kids. To see the trunk filled with little people stuff and then to see you watching your little weekend guest, I was pleasantly surprised. I pray the Lord will bless YOU abundantly as you care for these children. I love that you prayed for the little one's parents. You'll make a great foster mom.

Have a great week!
