Project 365 - Week 36

Week 36.

Well, I made it through my first week of empty nest!  My daughter's schedule hasn't ramped up yet, so she spent a lot of time with me, which was wonderful!  I would be lying if I said that I haven't been sad or that I didn't miss the sound of my boys voices, but I am doing good and am figuring out my new normal.

What I haven't done well at is taking pictures.  Almost all my pictures this week were taken with my phone camera and several days pictures happened on different days....oh well!

Here's my week:
Sunday
 I miss these Indiana sunsets!

Monday
We had a great day on the lake with our friends.  These are their girls tubing.  These tubes actually spin as they are pulled....made me nauseous just watching them.  But what a fun and relaxing day we had!!!

Tuesday
On the road again, bright and early.
I am sad to leave my friends and also a bit leery of going home to an empty house.

Wednesday
I spent most of today working at the church on our children's program, we start our new curriculum on Sunday.  This picture actually happened on Friday when a fast and furious storm came through...Lily was just a bit nervous!

Thursday
One of the first pluses to empty nest....I can fix fish or seafood every night if I want to!!!!

Friday
A sweet family in our church had a new baby girl!  Tonight I took a meal to them and got to meet her and see how excited big sister is!!

Saturday
We spent the day today at our first foster care training....my mind is swimming.  We will be going back after church tomorrow for 7 more hours, yep....7.

So how was your week?!!

I suspect once you get through your training that your nest won't be empty for long. Those folks are going to realize what a jewel they have and load you up as often as they can!

Love the pics!

Glad you got through your first week with an empty nest--although I have a feeling your nest won't be empty for very long. :)

I am glad you survived your first week. Sounds as if you are busy enough. I am so excited about your fostering classes and hope you will keep us up to date on how that is going.

You may be empty nesters, but you're certainly still as busy as ever! :)

The photo of your frightened dog brought back a memory from Africa. While there we took care of a dog for a few months who was afraid of not just thunder storms but plain old rain. He'd dive under the coffee table and cower, shivering in fright. The thing is, the coffee table sat kind of low and he was a big dog, so every time he did that, he was actually lifting the table off the floor. hahaha

Hope you have some time Monday to relax after such a jam-packed weekend!

My brain feels full just imagining all that training!

I'm glad your first week went well - keep embracing the positives. I don't need to tell you to keep busy - you do that pretty darn well all on your own :)

Yeah...everyone is right...you won't be empty long. :) Can't wait to hear all about it!

So ya may not have an empty nest for long, huh? I'm sure any child to come under your roof will be blessed and I am praying that you will receive many blessings in return.

That is some pretty serious training! What a thick workbook! Guess you can't be any too careful nowadays.

New curriculum...we started ours yesterday and it was challenging--the rowdy group of kids+ learning curve. Ay, ay, ay!

Our dog behaves the same way. The other night we were watching an Andy Griffith rerun and there was a storm in the show. The dog came out of sleep on her bed and sat at my feet nervously looking around. I wanted to tell her it sounded like someone rattling tin to me, but she seemed pretty sure it was real! :)

Fish several times a week would be something my hubs and I would do too. Yours looked so yummy.

Praying for your during your transition and looking forward to seeing what the Lord does in your future.

Oh girl, I have been thinking of you so much lately!!! We are headed out early in the morning to take our baby to school. I'm right on your heels with this empty nest thing.

And foster care? Can't wait to hear more about it!
