Project 365 - Week 14

Week 14.

It has been an interesting week.  I can't even really label it bad or good or busy.....it just was.  Have you had weeks like that?  There were lots of fun things....friends over, start of a new bible study.....and some melancholy things....remembering my Aunt, my son going back to school.  But among all of it, I am consistently reminded of what a gift my life is....every little bit.  I am so blessed.

Here's my week:
Sunday

Had to say goodbye to Jason tonight as he heads back to school.  :(
Monday
This is the tortilla soup I made tonight.  I put leftover pork from last night in it instead of chicken.  This has to be the best tortilla soup (and easiest) I have made.  Find the recipe here.

Tuesday

This is what it looks like when you have 3 kids and 2 are twins!!!
It's a handful!

Wednesday
Today to kick off our new bible study, we had a brunch at one of the member's houses.  It was so good....the food and the bible study!!

Thursday
Marinated cheese I made for an appetizer tonight.  This was SO good.  You can find the recipe here.

Friday
No April fools joke here!
I received this fun package from Amy!!!
Thanks so much!!!

Saturday

I am sooooo glad spring is here!!!
My yard is bursting with color!
It was absolutely gorgeous out today.  And a good day to stain the deck....we put our good friend Mark to work since he is visiting....he may think twice next time! ha!

I have also rocked out some GREAT soup recipes this week.  Check out my recipe blog for the details!!!

So how was your week?  Are you enjoying spring weather or still waiting patiently for spring to arrive?

Neither - I'm waiting IMpatiently for spring to arrive :) Heh.

Boy your food looks really good as usual. One of these days I might actually try one of the recipes. If I ever cook. Which isn't really likely.

Sorry you're missing your kids - it's such an exciting time for them, but tough for you...

I'm going to check out the tortilla soup recipe! Chicken tortilla soup is my ALL TIME FAVORITE but I do love me some pork :)
I know exactly what you mean by "the week that was" -- we've all had them.
I sorta had one of them myself this week :)
Hope next week is GREAT!

I love the picture of L with her babies. I haven't seen her in years!! I want to visit your church when I'm in LR but I always feel bad not going with my parents. Someday!

I want that kitchen! So gorgeous.

Has Jason been to the new coffee shop yet? Apparently it's a hit!

Uh, well at the beginning of the week it was spring weather but at the end of the week it seemed like it was headed toward summer. It was so hard to have it in the mid to high 80's when it had been in the low to mid 50's for so long. It's now sunny, but cooling back down for the next week into the 60's so that's a little better.

Great picture of your flowers in bloom. I haven't decided if your cheese looked good or scary. I'll have to go back and see what actually went into to decide :)

It was funny to see what Bible study you were starting because I was going to look at it for the Fall here. You'll have to let me know more about it!
Have a super week my friend!!

WOW...where to start. Food looks yummmo. The azaleas were gorgeous. I love those flowers. Your kitchen spread looks fabulous. Good luck on your bible study. We just finished ours and I am taking a sabbatical on the next one. Spring time brings added responsibilities here so I am going to play hooky for a session.

How did I miss out on your food blog? I'm going to have to follow you there too, with recipes like this.

I'm so jealous of your spring flowers. We've got a few bulbs peeping out of the ground, but it keeps snowing on them!

Hugs & love,
Mimi

Your flowers are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I hope to have a flower garden blooming like that next spring.

Your recipe blog, it that a seperate blog that connects into your blog, or something attached to your blog. I would like to do the same thing but not sure how.

Thanks,
Kim

I miss the azaleas, I had a bunch of them in my old landscape. I don't have any mature bushes in my yard but I am working on it!!!

Thank you for the links to the recipes. My kids all like tortilla soup. I really should give it a try.
I have totally had those weeks. Can't put my finger on the moods or the reasons why...they just are. I understand.

I hadn't noticed your food blog. Wow!
I must try the tortiilla soup.
I could wish I were more like you, or my SILs who are such great cooks and event planners. Ironically, my name is Koch (cook)!

I get so jealous when I see such beautiful "hosting" set ups with food. I'm like - "Throw a bag of chips out" - haha!!!

I love tortilla soup, and it is so fun to catch a glimpse of your life.

I read the Psalms on the plane home from Florida today, such a balm to my soul. Sara, if you have a chance, would you pray for my mom whom I had to leave in the hospital today? She and father have declined surgery for something going on with her stomach until they reach home in Chicago, but try as I might, I can't shed my anxiety. I'd so appreciate your prayer for their safety as they leave tomorrow morning by car. xoxo

Your spread for Bible study looks wonderful. Are those gerber daisies? Springy!

I'm definitely going to try the tortilla soup!!!!

Ok, I am totally jealous that you already have flowers! Our tulips are starting to come out of the ground, but no signs of flowers yet.

And may I say that your deck is gorgeous?
