Project 365 - Week 9

 Week 9.

Well, I am again rushing to get this posted.  I was sitting on the sofa with all my friends watching The Book of Eli and realized that I had not even started my P365 post!!!!  ack!!!  So, now we have put in a bit of a "lighter" movie....one I hope I can watch and post at the same time!!!

But first a question, if you saw that movie....do you think Eli was blind?

I missed two days this week.....TWO days.  Oh well, I really don't think anything happened that was very exciting those days anyway! ha!

Here's my week:
Sunday

Jared plays in the youth worship band at church.
I love seeing him up there!!

Monday
No picture.
I worked all day and then had tons of errands to do to get ready for my girls weekend away!

Tuesday
Again...no picture....sheesh.
I had so much to do today and then Jared woke up sick.
I am leaving tomorrow so I hope he gets well quickly!!!

Wednesday

I am here!!!
With all my friends!!
And when we walked in from the airport, my friend April had all this waiting for us....

 Plus about 4 other appetizers!!!!
My favorite!

Thursday
One thing about my group of friends......it's all about the food.

Today for lunch, Wendi made us the best french onion soup!!
Then we headed to the airport to pick up Kim and stopped for Thai on the way home.

Only 6 of our group made it this year.

Friday
my friends and I have been getting together for 17 years.  We used to always have a tea with scones, sandwiches..the works.  But we haven't done it in a few years.  Not sure why, but it just got dropped.  So this year, we decided to bring it back.  I am so glad we did.

Robin, this is your biscotti recipe!!!

Then for dinner....I can't believe we were even hungry....we made a caprese salad and a bay scallop risotto.  When I get home, I will post the risotto recipe on my recipe blog...you will want this recipe!

Saturday
Today is movie day and left overs!!
We have spent the whole day watching movies, reading, eating....we did do Zumba this morning!!

This has been such a relaxing weekend!!!
And I still have 1 1/2 days!! whoop!
I had one rough bump, while I am having fun, Jared is at home STILL sick....feeling like a pretty bad mom today...ugh.

So how was your week?  link up!

I'm so glad you were able to take time for you this week. Mom always needs to remember to re-charge her batteries.

I hope Jared is better soon.

Hugs & love,
Mimi

I just think it's wonderful to have a group of friends like that! And the food looks fantastic :) Sorry that Jared is still sick, but he's got his dad to take care of him so don't fret. Enjoy the rest of your girl time!

Gorgeous food! You must all love food...I would consider a weekend away a weekend to take off from cooking, but if you love it like you do, then I guess it makes sense. So, can Jared play any instrument?? Hope he feels better soon!

WOW! The food looked amazing, I am glad you tried the biscotti. I only have one left from when I made them. You'll have to let me know what you thought of them.

Now on to the Book of Eli.

Spoiler Alert!!! If you have not seen it skip this next part. It will totally ruin the movie for you!

You are so right about it being an intense movie. I normally do not watch R rated movies but this one was recommended to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was a total suprise to me and I love it when that happened. YES I do believe that he was blind. I think that the whole movie was a very vivid depiction of God's hand at work in the life of an obedient servant. After I saw that movie I was so convicted about my unwillingness to follow through with things sometimes and even more so on scripture memorization. The movie gave me and my friends many days of discussion about God's protection, obedience, scripture memorization, faith during extreme difficulties. Loved the movie despite the graphic violence it was very good, no it was awesome!

Great week!
Blessings
R

I have a group of friends that has been getting together (along with our families) sometime around Christmas for about 26 years. But we really want to do something during the summer with just US. What you guys did sounds perfect.

Hope Jared is feeling better soon. He's of an age that he can do without you for a bit - & then he'll be SO GLAD to see you when you get home.

Yummy looking food. Were those cucumber finger sandwiches? I have not had them in years. Looks like you had a great week. I loved the vividness of your food photos...they look like they are right off a cooking magazine.

Looks like you had a fabulous and filling time! :)
Hope Jared is feeling better.
About the movie, yep, blind. If you go back and watch it again really listen. They did an amazing job with sound effects and emphasizing them due to a blind person's hightened sense of hearing.
Have a great week!!
