Project 365 - Week 8

 Week 8.

Whew!  I'm late!!!  We went to parent weekend at my son's college this weekend and got back LATE last night.  Oh my goodness did it feel good to hug my son!!!!  Although it almost wasn't worth the drive because he was in the talent show and had rehearsals most of the time.......but I said ALMOST!!!  :)

This has been a busy week for me.....full of highs and lows.  I am so thankful for all of you and for praying for my son and his all-state tryout.  One of the things I love most about blogging is the encouragement and prayer support we can give each other!!!  What a blessing!

Here's my week:
Sunday
In Sunday school today we talked about how God never gives up on us and how it made each of us unique.  The younger kids made art using their thumb prints and saw how each was unique!!

We enjoyed the evening listening to the LR youth symphony.
Jared is in the very back.....1st chair french horn

Monday
Valentines that my daughter sent to me and her dad!
spent the day at all-state band try outs.
Jared did well, but did not make it this year.  :(
Came home this evening to this AMAZING cake my husband had waiting for me!!!  So, so good!!!
And then the evening was topped off by my son posting a video on FB singing to me for valentines day!!!
I am very blessed!!!

Tuesday
ared had a mid-winter concert at school tonight
It was great!

Wednesday
a favorite pasta dish of ours...one I learned in Italy.
Go here for the recipe.

Thursday
Jared had to work tonight, so Steve and I went out on a date and enjoyed some sushi!!  I am so glad he loves sushi as much as I do!!

Friday
Got to JBU after lunch for parent weekend.  So, so good to see my son!!!
And we also were able to meet his new girlfriend and take them to dinner.  Loved that!

Saturday
Siloam Springs is pretty small. So today we headed 30 minutes away for lunch to eat at Steak N Shake....a family favorite!!  No, that is not my shake on this side of the table...that is Andrea's!!

They had a talent show for parent weekend.
Jason and 4 of his friends did an AWESOME job....if I do say so myself!!!
Lots of talent at this school...it was very fun!

Well, another week down!!!  Link up and show us how yours went!

And yes, I love the blessing that blogging is too. Love you, Sara!

Sorry your son didn't make it but I read you post and I think his attitude about it all was great. If at first you don't succeed...

Love the sweet valentine's gifts from your girl.

I was so excited when I found those Doritos. I remember those as a Friday night snack when I was a kids. My mom loves them too. And yes some day we will meet, eat Doritos together, drink coffee, go through recipes, love steak and shake and sonic too.

Looks like a great parents weekend.

Oh wow that cake looks FABULOUS! I would like some cake & sushi right now!

Sorry that Jared didn't make it this year, but I don't think that's stopping his enjoyment of music is it? I love how talented all your kids are.

Such sweet Valentine love.
About our 'uniquity' seen in fingerprints, I know a special lady, Sherrie Eldridge, who ministers to all parties involved in adoption (she herself was adopted). She has written a book--FOREVER FINGERPRINTS: An Amazing Discovery for Adopted Children.
Have a great week!

The more I eat sushi, the more I love it.

I'm sorry Jared didn't make All-State, but under those conditions...good grief! I'm sure it was difficult to be one's best like THAT! I can't imagine not getting to rehearse as much as one wanted. I remember very well all the hours we'd stand around amongst hundreds of other students up and down hallways and in rehearsal rooms, practicing like mad before it was our turn!! I NEEDED that! Well, sitting 1st-chair horn in the LRYS is nothing to snub one's nose at!!

Actually, that WAS your church we went to for the movie night! LOL! Beckie invited us. I always feel like a step-child when I go to Grace functions. Just enough people who know us and want us there, but just as many people there who haven't a clue who the weirdos with four kids are. :)

And, oh, by the way, I'd love to have you come spend an hour (or more) with me!! Though I'm quite certain I'd have a lot more to learn from YOU than the other way around!
