Project 365 - Week 1

 Week 1

Well, although there is only ONE day of the year in this week, it is still our first week for P365.  This will be my 3rd year to do this and I am really excited.  Today at my open house, I had my 365/2009 book on the coffee table.  It seems like every person picked it up and just ooo'd and awed over it!!  I even had one friend say she is going to join us and went right out to her car, got her camera and came in and took a picture!!!  I love it!  Now THAT gets me excited to do it again.

I hope if you are reading this, that you are joining me for P365.  If not, I hope after reading this that you will consider it.  What is P365?  Well, we take a picture a day for a year.  On Sundays, we all link up here to show our week's pictures.  I also keep all my pictures on my P365 blog (you can click my tab to see the last two years) I really can't think of a better way to document your family's every day life.  And who knows, after linking up with us you may meet some new friends that just might impact your life....I know I did!

Here's my week:
 Sunday
Walked by the dining room and Jared was putting together his lego from his stocking.  Boys never out grow legos!!
Our band had Christmas off so our worship pastor asked Jason to play with him for church.  I love seeing my son up there!

It cracks me up how much fun we have playing the Wii.
Monday

Christmas came down today.
I am always glad to have that done!
Tuesday

Jason made waffles for everyone this morning.
Wednesday

Can I just tell you how much I am enjoying my TV in the kitchen!!!
Thursday

This is my Wii character.
Doesn't she look like me?
Jason and I have been playing Frisbee golf this afternoon.
Friday
I am sick today with a bad cold and trying to get read for your New Years Day Open House.  The peas are on to soak and I a going to bed....no ball drop for me!

Saturday
 Happy New Year!!!

The turkey is frying....

 ..the food is set out...
black eyed peas are done!
We are ready to party!
Our open house was so fun this year, about 60 people came through.  I even had a friend from out of town surprise me and stop by on her way through LR!!!
The perfect start to the New Year!
Now it's your turn.  Link up below and share you pictures....even if it's just one!!!!

OK, I'm an idiot - I called mine week 53 LOL. Well, it sure felt like 53 weeks.

Wish I was at your open house - we had Taco Bell instead of black-eyed peas. And nothing green at all.

Thanks so much Sara for continuing this.

Our turkey was great yesterday - the skin is the family favorite.

Man, so much pressure. Can I take this week to ponder the idea??? It is just day one, I thought I had all week??? I did join Beth Moore's year long Siesta scripture memory group.

Your Mii is cute! Can she cook like you? :)
Glad you are enjoying your tv in the kitchen. You definitely spend a lot of time in there!
Oh how I missed the black eyed peas this year. I had to work all day so couldn't make it to Kim's.
Have a super week!!

Yummy to all that food and I hope you are feeling better. Thank you so much for creating P365 and sharing the idea with fellow bloggers! I will be embarking on my second year and have enjoyed it thoroughly! Happy New Year to you and yours! :)

Its so cool to see your kids around the house, just doing their thing. We don't have a Wii but it looks like a great family event.

You are so ambitious to be hosting this. I credit Rachel at Our Adoption Journey for first helping me find you through this project and I'm so glad I did on many levels.

You are a dear friend and I can't wait to see all the good things God has in store for you this year.

I couldn't get my Mii to look like me, but it is cute - blonde with pony tails.

I your New Year's tradition is great! My house is too teeny tiny to do something like that, but it would be fun.

I would love to join you for this! Do I have to post daily, or can I do a recap at the end of the week? I've missed today, but hope to have six lovely photos by the weekend. I'm grabbing your button for my sidebar!

Hope you're doing better!

Our friends put up Christmas decorations before we arrived and I'm not taking them down until tomorrow :)

I can't find black-eyed peas here and just drooled when I saw you photo of them soaking. LOL You can tell I'm a southern girl :) Sounds like you had a great time yesterday!

I just love it when the kids cook for us, and I know you do too.

I'm ready to start P365 for the year but may be late posting this week again. Our company is here through tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Such hospitality, even when you're sick!
I agree, TV in the kitchen, or audio books, help get the work done.
We had waffles this evening with some family members and friends that watched the Colts game here.
Last Sunday we were enjoying the daughter's Wii. Haven't seen the Mii they made me yet. I requested a younger looking model.
Thanks again, Sara.
Hope you get to feeling better real soon!

I just had to comment on this to thank you for starting the New Year's Day black-eyed peas tradition with us. Seventy friends came to our home this year and raved about how good the black-eyed peas were and how much they look foward to coming over and spending the day with us. (I think I'm going to have to make 4 bags next year. Yikes!) I think about you at various times throughout the year, but ALWAYS on New Years Eve as I'm sifting through the peas getting them ready to soak. Thanks to you and Steve for being such a blessing to us in so many ways!

This is so great! I had heard about a Project 365 through a scrapbooking friend of mine (I'm an avid scrapbooker myself) but she had a certain twist to it for scrapbookers and photography lovers - when you are either one of these above mentioned or BOTH you typically are behind the camera. So they took one picture a day of THEMSELF! She had so much fun doing it that I am doing it this year and through another blog I follow found your blog! I never knew so many people did this! I'll be linking up when I can!
