First (annual?) Christmas Blogging Cookie Recipe Exchange

Ok, that title is a mouth full!!

I have been patiently waiting for this day!!
....well I couldn't stand it and posted early! :)
I love, LOVE cookies and am always up to try new ones.

So, type up your favorite recipe, post it and then link up at the bottom of this post!!
Sharing is good!

These are my family's favorite cookies during the holiday.  They are so light and flaky and just the right size to pop into your mouth!!!  The recipe came from the senior pastor's wife in the 1st church we served in over 20 years ago.  They are a bit time consuming...but oh, so worth it!

Cream Wafers

Dough:
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1/2+ cup heavy whipping cream

Frosting:
1/4 cup butter softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
red and green food coloring
(I usually double this)

Mix dough and chill.  Cut dough into fourths.  Roll out to 1/8 inch thick on a floured board.  Cut cookies using a 1 inch cookie cutter (or the smallest you have).  roll each cookie in sugar and place on a cookie sheet.  prick each cookie with a fork.  Bake 7-9 minutes at 375 till very light brown...do NOT over bake!!  Cool on wax paper and frost like sandwiches.

Enjoy!!!

Now link up below and share your favorite recipe!!!

Doh! I totally forgot about this! I've been so busy planning for Butter's all girl slumber party/birthday party this weekend. I got cupcakes and what to serve for dinner on the brain.

Looking forward to checking out everyone's recipes! Great idea, Sara! No time to bake right now and it will be too hot when we get home, but I'm saving the recipes for when it gets cool next year :)
