This is why I'll miss him....

no, not because he loves pretzels and goes through a HUGE container of them very quickly.

no, not because he loves to grab my camera ALL the time and takes TONS of meaningless pictures.

I'll miss his point of view and creativity.

who else would think to take a picture like this?!

My son is 11 and he is starting to eat entire bags of popcorn himself...pour giant bowls of goldfish crackers and eat them all...take seconds on the lasagna, so we no longer can eat on it for days...and I know these are things I will miss in a few years. The way he flops on every piece of furniture and those big feet and the wrestling with Mom he uses as a cover to get some snuggles in (in the form of headlocks...). I've noticed he no longer averts his eyes from kissing scenes on TV or makes gagging sounds, so my time is running short for him to still be under my influence. Ah, boys! There's nothing like 'em!

I don't like pretzels, but I have to admit, that's a great photo :)

Oh, Sara...my son and I just got back from Toy Story 3 (he's nineteen, but we saved seeing it to go with each other). Such fond memories of when he was a boy, playing with his toys.

Toys, cameras, surprise photographs, time spent together. Are we ever ready to let them go? I think not. It's good the Lord 'forces' me to. (Although mine isn't going much of anywhere, still content to work at Jewel, huge sigh, I often joke that I'd be raising Norman Bates if he'd let me.)

Wonderful picture! Made me crave both pretzels and more time with my child.
Thanks!

don't make me sad, i thought i was over all the sad until my daughter and i realized that most of her friends are going away to college very soon and she will miss them dearly... AND you just made me realize for the first time that I will have my middle child at this place in life (a couple years from now) and i will miss that same thing about her. her perspective on things, her creativity and such...i hadn't thought of it ever!
