Major throwing up at 48 can be a problem!

And you know why?

Two words.....

Bladder control.

Ladies, I am posting just long enough to tell you the inevitable happened.......I got the stomach virus my men had. Yep, only lucky me got a worse case! I spent the night throwing up and, well lets just say it was coming out of both ends.....I know TMI.........I don't want to think about it either.

But what I didn't expect was seriously wetting myself every time I threw up!!

Now, I know that at my age, some of us have a little problem sometimes with sneezing and laughing too hard, but I did not expect a complete lack of bladder control each time I threw up!

Ya'll, I was running out of PJs....quickly.

My poor husband, all he wanted to do was rub my back and hand me a wash cloth......instead he got "uh, honey, can you clean up the puddle on the floor"..........

It really stinks getting old sometimes!

I have slept all morning......my stomach has settled down, but I still feel like a truck hit me! The last two days, I have spent getting drinks, food, etc for my men....

.......today, I am alone in a quiet house.......

.....such is the life of a mom!

(I must tell you that my husband did offer to stay home and got me everything I needed before he left!)

We are supposed to be at a Weekend to Remember marriage conference starting tomorrow night, please pray that I get well enough to go and that my last child doesn't come down with it!!

I can't believe I'm posting this here (to my ultimate shame) but every time I get the stomach virus since I've given birth I have to wear a pad. The force of the throwing up is just too much for this baby-weakened bladder to handle. Thankfully Always has been enough to catch the leakage but I'm sure one day it will be a full-on pond on the bathroom floor. So don't feel too bad - I'm only 27!!!

Wow - where would be go to talk about vomiting-induced urinary incontinence? Gotta love blogging! :)

PS hope you get feeling better soon!!!

Ah, yes. Been there, done that. There's other incontinence that occurs too sometimes. . . which resulted in my washing my cell phone a few years back.

I'm sorry you've been sick and I hope you're feeling better. But it sounds like to me you've already had a week to remember, are you sure you can handle a Weekend to Remember? I'm sorry, I couldn't resist!!!

I pray you'll be well soon!!

I am soooo sorry - hope you feel better really soon. Especially with the retreat. Thanks for giving me things to look forward too. I am only a couple of years off.

Oh bummer, I was hoping you wouldn't get it! I do hope you're well enough to go to the marriage retreat. Why does this have to happen when something important is going on?

One time we were traveling out of town to a Preacher's conference and I got the flu on the way there. To top it off, the heater didn't work in the drafty, little dive motel room and I already had the chills. This was during the winter and every other motel was booked. Anyway, I had to miss the conference that evening, but had to go sick the next morning because I was the speaker for the ladies. Imagine how much fun that was! This happened again, when I woke up at 5:00 a.m. on the day of my daughter's graduation throwing up and also on my brother's wedding day. I hate looking back at pictures of those special events because I'm a nice shade of white! Sorry, I didn't mean to write a book. Get well girlfriend! :)

You poor thing. Hugs and prayers that you will make it to your conference. and if it makes you feel any better the same thing happend to me last time I had the pukes and I'm only 32

I hope that you feel better soon and that you can still go to the conference and have a great time. I've always wanted to attend one of those, but my husband doesn't.

I love your openness! I tell my mom that I started life with a diaper and I'll end life with one. My coughing creates quite a problem and since I have CF, you can only imagine how much that happens and what precautions I have to take.

We're the same age - I'll be 49 next mo.

I love your honesty, Sara! :-)

AWE, Sara.
I hope you get better real soon.
I'll tell you a secret ever since I had my kiddos sneezing, laughing hard and coughing have not been my friends. Now that I'm blood pressure meds. If I do empty every hour..it could get wet. I'm 35 and I've wet myself in line at the store cause I waited too long. Good thing I've taken to wearing panty liners.
Now THAT'S TMI!!!! :)

I'm "only" 45 and I've been there, done that, so don't feel alone in this at all! I hope you feel better soon!

Sara, I have tagged you for a fun game of "Eights," but I know you're not feeling well, so if you don't get around to doing it, that's ok. Just thought you might like to join in on the fun, when you're feeling better. If you're interested, hop on over to my blog and check out the game. ~ Debra

I know you aren't feeling well, so I really shouldn't be laughing at you...but your post totally cracked me up.

Hope you are feeling better real soon. I'll pray for you that you will be feeling great and can really enjoy the conference.

I hope you feel better soon! The stomach virus is the worst. And all the rest of it on top of throwing up? I am so sorry and I completely understand!
