He should have known!

Yep, my son should have known.

I have told all my kids since they were young........ and reminded them when ever they got caught...... that I pray nearly every day for God to allow them to get caught the moment they step off the right path!! I have so many stories of very wild and interesting ways my children have been caught!! Last night was one!

The phone rings about 8:00 last night and it is my boss/friend. Here is our conversation:

Me: hello?

friend: Did he get a ticket"

me: what?

friend: did he get a ticket or a warning?

me: what?!!!! Did Jason get a ticket?!!!!!

friend: uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..................maybe? Is Jason not home?

me: No. Did he get a ticket?!!!

friend: oh man, I thought he would be home by now!! I didn't want to get him in trouble.

me: what happened?!

friend: Well, I was leaving the pharmacy earlier and there were some policemen out by the street. I am not really sure why I went over to talk to them (I know!), but I was telling them how much I appreciated them patrolling the area. I saw one had a radar gun and asked if they were catching any speeders. The other officer said "yes, quite a few..........in fact, here's one now!" They jumped in the patrol car and I looked up and realized it was Jason. I yelled at the officer "that is one of my babies, please be nice!" He leaned out the window and yelled back "tell your babies to slow down!" and as he drove off I yelled "HAVE MERCY ON HIM!!!" so I was just calling to see if they gave him a ticket or not.

I tell you there are times when being a parent is kind of fun...........

...............when your kids have no idea how you could have possibly found out something.........

...........................when they realize that God really is on their parent's side.......

...........................................priceless!!!!

You would think they would learn by now..........btw, he got a warning............thanks Tracee!!!

I LOVE moments like those! Facebook is good for those kinds of moments. Sometimes they forget that what is written is public (aka: Mom can see it LOL).

LOL-- Reminds me of being 17. I got pulled over by a state trooper who looked at my license and said "I know your Daddy, and I suggest when you get home you hand him your keys." That's exactly what I did. And do you know, that officer never did speak to my dad about it-- and yes, they were friends. (no, he didn't give me a ticket. Being in trouble with my dad was much worse than getting a ticket any day!)

I'm sure you were shocked to get that call!!

I love how your friend yelled, "That's one of my babies!"

I'm glad he didn't get a ticket...usually a warning is the only thing needed to remind you to slow down!

I'm glad he just got a warning. Isn't it good for our kids to see how God is in all the details?

That is too cool. I'm glad your friend walked up to the officers with a compliment... it probably helped too. I used to get pulled over a lot but mostly because I got off of work the same time the bars closed.

I love the lighting in your WW. Its so great that your kids are so involved in church and God

Great testimony. I've told that very thing to my daughter. She was always puzzled when I knew things she didn't tell me. lol. Blessings, Susan

Great story. I have one similar, but I was the driver. Maybe I will tell today.

LOL - never underestimate the power of a parent, especially when God is behind them!!

Would loved to have seen the look on his face when he realized you already knew about it!

oh WOW...good one. i think it's a lot to be said that his side step is on something "simple"? like a ticket. good parenting i'd say!!

Cool story. Our son got one speeding ticket about 1 week after he got his license. His Dad said - one more ticket, no more car keys. He never got another ticket!! Cool story.

That is too funny! Now that's a prayer I never thought to pray. We pray for our kids every night before bed, but I never thought to pray that they would get caught if they stepped off the path. That's good!!

I was telling my husband this prayer and we've decided we need to pray this for all of us or better yet that we'll get caught just before we step off the path!!
