Note to self: under no circumstances EVER wear your PJs to drive your son to school when you have an empty tank of gas!!!
My morning started off tired. I threw a sweatshirt on and thought "no one will see what I am wearing on the bottom!!" Didn't think of the extreme bedhead I have because I haven't showered in 2 days...another story. We go to walk out the door and I can't find my keys and realize I have left them at the gym. My husband drove last night and I forgot to get mine off the hook.....I know you are thinking "ewwwe...she hasn't showered?!!"
Okay, I did shower my body after the workout, but not my hair....so you can only imagine what it looks like today....I would have won the starbucks card from Sara's bedhead meme forsure!!!!!
Find my husbands extra keys......we are really late now. I have forgotten how much I love that Jason drives Jared to school in the mornings!!!! I have totally taken it for granted!
We drive maybe 3 blocks and a loud buzzer goes off.....yep, I am on empty. No really, I am below empty. I have never been this low before because I am one of those that fills her car whenever it get to 1/4 of a tank......a left over from my days in below zero degree weather in ND, I think. So I have no idea how far I can go on "below empty". I am praying like crazy that I have enough to get to school and then the gas station, there is no time to stop on the way.
And I am thinking, what is my husband going to say when he has to pick me up looking like this? He is going to laugh his head off and I am going to become a sermon illustration for sure!!!! Definitely praying harder now!!
I make it to the school, then to walmart to get gas.....pull my hood over my head (like that helps draw the attention away from me) and get only enough gas to get me home and then to another gas station after I shower!!!

Mornings like this keep you humble.
If it makes you feel any better, I too have pumped gas in my slippers, leaving without thinking about it. I think it's the fault of the slipper companies for making them so comfortable. I hope your day gets better.
Hee hee hee. This is too cute!
I have to amdit Sar, I'm having some wicked bedhead these days too!
My mother NEVER let us wear PJ or slippers in the car...it's superstition to her. But I've totally been busted. Not one of the finer moments. But thanks for the laugh. And remember at least you had BOTH eyebrows!
(I am the SAME way with the gas. I will YELL at Rob if my tank is on E) That usually has to happen a few times before he GETS it and keeps it at 1/4 or above. Did I ever tell you I don't put gas in the car either? When I lived in Boston it's all full service out there...SPOiled. Then I came back and read this story in one of those chicken soup books, how that is how this gentlemen showed his love for his bride of 50 years, by always making sure she had gas and never allowing her to fill it up...that stuck with me and when I knew Rob was the one I gently informed him that he was the gas and dish man. Oh, and he has to iron too. I hate it and only buy clothes that don't need ironing...
I love my Hubby!
Cute slippers by the way...I've got some that are teh color of cookies monster...we could bring back the muppet show with our slippers and bedhead! AhA. I'm joking!
I did about the same thing this morning. Thankfully I had filled my tank yesterday morning. I did not even put a bra on for the run to school! I have never done that before! It is 6 degrees here in MI today. My pj pants are much thicker than yours so I survived. I must be off to get my shower!
i wish wearing pajama pants in public would become a fashion statement, because i could seriously live in mine. seeing your picture makes me want to go put mine back on and curl up on the couch with a book. its definitely too cold for normal clothes.
i do this pj driving quite often in the morning with bedhead and pumped gas like this too! you are not alone! i love the honesty here!
Oh my gosh! Hilarious! I've actually thought about going out in pj's before to drop off or pick up, but have always been afraid of an accident or something happening that I'd have to get out of the car. Scott, unlike me, does it all the time! heh!
Hugs,
Ohilda
PS I'm LOVING LOVING LOVING the new season of 24! Can't wait till Mondays now.
I've seriously thought about doing the school run in my robe, but I've always been afraid something like this would happen.
Although I saw a high schooler in Chick-fil-A yesterday between her finals and it looked like she had on pajama bottoms. So consider yourself in style!
Wow - I totally needed hat laugh today!
Oh, we are freezing, too, so I can commiserate!
Oh that is so sad . . . but really-you're right: no big deal to those guys working the gas stations. They've surely seen worse.
In Minnesota, we wear shorts and t-shirts when it reaches 35-40 degrees. So, frankly, I cannot feel your pain. We have -21 right now. And 21 degrees below zero is no different than 51 degrees below zero. Below zero cold is cold is cold.
What I DO understand is the leaving the house "undressed." btdt. Shame on you! Shame on me.
:-P

Sara,
I couldn't find your email. Just wanted to say thank you for caring for His babies and for being a "living Samnuel". :) Yes, of course, you may copy the post.
Hugs,
Ohilda
yup, that's a good way to help you stay humble. At least you didn't see anyone from your congregation!
Heeheehaha!! Funny story, girl! Haven't we all had a morning like this at least once!?
Cute slippers.
but you had a bra on at least, right? i've made that mistake! ugg.
When I saw the title and the photo, my first thought was "OH, NO, she ran out of gas!" Thankfully that wasn't it. My sister is a nut... she goes to Starbucks in her pajama bottoms routinely. She did it with me one day and I was shocked. That's why the attendant didn't look twice. I'm sure he's seen it all. ; ) Hope your day got better. It's even cold in Florida. Supposed to be in the 20's tonight. Brrr.
Too funny!
Love your slippers, there have been many times I have wondered off in my pj bottoms (of course a shirt too lol ) You are right it is way too cold down here in the south. Stay warm
I'm so glad this happened to you. Makes me feel better about the underwear/dog thing. :)
Oh Sara, you poor thing. I do feel very sorry for you even though I am laughing. I often drop the kids at school in my PJ's. Haven't been caught ......yet!!!
Thanks for coming over to check out my place.
