ICE days = wonderful!

Wow!  What a great day we had today.  I so needed that breather and break from my schedule and am now ready to tackle my "to do" list........in time for possibly another ice day! woot!

I spent the morning by the fire....one thing we don't get to enjoy much around here...getting caught up on all my blogs and spent a lot of time on Bloggy giveaways!!!  did you know they have over 1000 blogs giving items away......it's seriously crazy and you need to go there!  However, if you don't have...say.....HOURS, then stay away!!

About 11, I got the most amazing call.  One of our friends at church owns a cleaning service and because of the ice, they had some extra time and wanted to come clean my house......yes, you read that right......this day just got better by the minute!!!!  Remember this morning my telling you that I had fallen so far behind and needed some order........is that amazing or what?!

The ice had actually turned to rain and wasn't as bad as everyone predicted, so when the cleaning crew arrived, we took the boys and headed out to lunch.....Arkansas Burger company.  Just about the best burgers ever!!!

My guys being goofy.......

After lunch, we headed to the mall to get the boys some clothes they needed.  The mall was empty!  It was so nice to walk around with no crowds.  We got the stuff we needed and some we didn't  :) and then headed home.

We spent the afternoon teaching the boys how to play euchre.  One of our favorite cards games.  I have to tell you that the boys wanted to play Monopoly.  Can I just say that I HATE really dislike Monopoly.  It took all my resources to convince them to play something else!!!  but I did it!!  We had so much fun and of course with my family, it got quite competitive!!!

between hands.......

The score cards for euchre show that Jared and I were smokin' Jason and Steve!!!  Okay, I will admit that I love winning and I was gloating here .......just a tad.....!!

Can I just say that I love days like this.  And I love spending quality time with my family.....it's especially sweet when it is unexpected!!!

Man, I love those guys!!!

........now how will tomorrow top that?!!!

Sounds like a delightful day! They're teasing us with the ice tonight here, but it's not going to do much. I don't even think we'll get a late start out of it - and then the sun will come out and it will warm up into the 50's.

What a great day. Could you please tell your thoughtful cleaning crew about your really good friend in Idaho who needs some SERIOUS digging out? I would love that kind of surprise. You certainly deserved it. You have a great life, Sara!

It really sounds like you had an awesome day. And Sara, I REALLY like your friends. They wanted to come CLEAN?

Yikes, if my friends have some spare time they call to see what's for dinner and leave the place trashed...heh!

Hugs,

Ohilda

PS I did my "B" Meme today. :)

wow, friends who clean! that is awesome. We had the same kind of day, and it was wonderful. Ice storms can be so great, huh?

I want to tell you something SO BAD. It's too much info. for comments. How do I e-mail you?

So fun. My kids mug for the camera the very same way. I have almost no normal pics of them, but then I think, "Well, that IS normal for them."

Sounds like you had an awesome day. I used to love snow days when my kids were younger. We'd have so much fun just being together.

While I don't wish you more bad weather, I do wish you another opportuntity for a day like you just had. :)

You will not be able to top that day, so it's good that you took pictures to remind yourself that you HAD it. God is good.

My parents never liked playing games with us. And I don't like Monopoly either. But I do like playing cribbage with my hubby, and I'm learning to enjoy games with the kiddos, because I do NOT want to be like my parents. We like Scooby Doo bingo and Disney Yatzee. I really don't like Candy Land, they kids get upset if they don't get a certain cards that makes them win...Hide and seek is fun too. I hide beanie babies and if they find one they get "treats" like a candy heart, the more you find the more candy you get. It's fun. You lucky duck, what I nice day you had!

Excuse me...did you say someone offered to just come over and CLEAN your house for you? Oh my word. That would be the highlight of my MONTH, girl!

I normally do the Bloggy Giveaways, too, and have won a couple of things in the past, but this time they snuck up on me and I have had NO time to enter. I guess there's always next quarter!
