15......How did it happen?

My baby turns 15 tomorrow, Jan 4.     How did that happen?

15 years ago tomorrow, I was being taken to the hospital in a snow storm (early) because we thought my fluid was leaking.  It was 92 BELOW zero with the wind chill!!!  yes, it can get that cold....in Minot, ND. Sure enough, I had a leak and they were going to have to induce labor. Just a few hours later, Jared was born!  We enjoyed a few extra days in the hospital together because they would not let me take him home until it was 30 below.....go figure!

Jared has always been the sweetest child...from birth until now.  He is very easy going, compassionate and caring with others and always willing to help if asked.  He has always been able to entertain himself better than any child I have ever seen!  He does, however, have a very stubborn side that only shows up every now and then.  But when it does....watch out!!!

Jared loves music.  He just made 1st band, 1st chair at the all-region band competition.  And he loves rocks.  Any kind.  His room is one big rock collection.  It will be interesting to see which direction God takes him...music.....or geology....who knows!!!

Anyway, Jared, I love you, son and can't imagine life without you!!  You bring so much joy and laughter into our house!!  I am so proud of you....proud of the man you are becoming, proud of your relationship with Jesus Christ and so proud to see how your love of your Savior is very evident in your life.

Happy 15th!!!              Yes, we will go ASAP to take the driving test.....  :{

Happy Birthday to Jared! Woot!
Wow, was that the coldest day of the year you had him? Brrrr!
He looks/sounds like a great kid, and obviously a huge blessing to his mom and dad :-)

I figured out how to get the button on my sidebar AND link it back to you. Blogger has features I'm still learning about :-)

I have a rock collection too!! I have a rock from Scotland, England and Italy. I also have a rock from the moon. (seriously, My hubbies best friend has connections.) I have rocks for Hawaii, Peru and Australia. The goal is to bring them back to there "homes" when I am able. I don't ever think I'll get to Afganastan, Isreal, Peru or the moon. So those are treasures. I have see glass that I've collected too. It is SO much fun.
How did this start for him?
Rocks would "speak" to me. I would just be looking down and then I'd see one, pick it up and it felt like it ws meant for my hand. I have a ton of heart shaped rocks. Those are the only ones I'll pick up and keep now, I have 3 baskets full and I refuse to have anymore baskets.
Happy Birthday Jared! Good Luck on your driving test!!!

I'm new to your site, but am enjoying it very much. We have kids about the same ages. Mine are 18, 18 (yes twins) & 15.

Small world...my dad grew up in Minot and my grandmother still lives there. Most of his family is in and around Minot & Rugby. :)
