This morning was a VERY productive morning. I relaxed yesterday for most of the day and got lots of rest last night. So, this morning I was up and ready to go. By noon, I had made a batch of fudge and these 2 types of cookies...
Our family's favorites!!! About an hour later, one of my plates looked a bit different...
There are about 4 large cookies and 6-8 small cookies missing from this plate...............Not eaten by any human in our house..
...................and replaced by slobber......
............................this is our culprit!!
Who is now in the "dog house" or "dog kennel"!!! How she got up on the bar height table, I will never know.....but the slobber and icing around her mouth gave her away!!!
and yes, I have considered that after eating so much sugar, she just may puke in that kennel.......but it just didn't seem like much punishment to put her outside (60 degree outside) with all her doggy friends waiting at the fence to socialize with her!!!!
Good thing for her she is sooooo cute!

btw, after being banned to her kennel and then outside for most the afternoon, Lily came in the house and promptly tried to eat the cookies AGAIN!!

This just recently happened to a co-worker of mine....only it was with a pie!
Food left out to a dog = dog food.
Has a similar experience with a pumpkin cheesecake that was left out on the table.

She is too cute to punish. That last photo is hysterical!! Yes, my dog is a thief too. She's always grabbing our sandwiches off the counter when we turn away to make a drink or get something else.
Lily, Lily, Lily !!! Maybe she's just showing she's part of the family too - eating the family favorites! We all loved reading about Lily and seeing her pictures too. :)

Sara - this reminded me of a dog we had when I was about 13. My parents were out for the night and I decided to make my first peach pie from scratch - crust, filling, everything. Made the pie - it looked beautiful until our dog ate a hole IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PIE. There was no saving any part of it. AARGH!!!
Oh My! I can see the temptation though...those cookies do look yummy.

Dogs go to the outhouse I beleive. :) Once our dog took a whole ham off of the counter. She was lucky to be alive after that. Dad was so mad.
