surprising changes....

You know, you live with your kids all their lives, 24/7, day in and day out......you start thinking that "you know them". Then as they grow and mature, surprising changes happen. Oh, some changes you could live without, but some are just wonderful.

My youngest son just started High School. I have been praying for him all summer because he is kind of a home body, not very social, doesn't care to join any clubs, just started this school last year and is following a brother who is the complete opposite......all things that could add up to a rough start.

But the school year started and....

he tried out for the golf team....and made it.

joined the marching band.....and is loving it.

joined a club.....can't think of the name of it but it is a service club.

had 2 girls already decorate his locker.....pretty much liked that one too.

and today tells me he signed up and gave a speech for a place in student counsel!!!!

Where did this Jared come from? We found out tonight that he didn't get voted onto student counsel, but I am incredibly proud of my son!!! He has completely stepped out of his comfort zone and wow, the maturity I am seeing is awesome! Way to go Jared!!!

Speaking of changes......we are having a first tomorrow night......Jason has invited his girlfriend over for dinner with the family. He has even planned the menu and told me what to cook!!

....don't worry, there will be pictures and followup to come!!!

Way to go Jared!!! But what did you expect, coming from you. Do you feel dissed from me? Don't blame you. Life is like yours and add the fact that the baseball guys are in the playoffs and the college football team down the road has also started their season so right now the family has like 23 jobs. I am still talking to Michelle and Becky about driving down there. In fact, I'm going to call you when I go pick up the kids from school so... Talk to you soon.
