Proud moments..

As promised, I am posting pictures of "the dinner". I do have to tell ya'll that I completely lost my "cool mom factor" when I pulled out the camera!!! I blamed it on the grandparents wanting to see a picture of Jason's girlfriend! .....I'm pretty sure they didn't buy that!

Jason's requested meal was: grilled flank steak, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus.

Connor and Jason. Do I hear a collective "awwwwwwwwe"!

This is one of those stages that a mom dreads worries about! Will your child want to date too young. What do you do if they do? What kind of girl/boy will they navigate towards. Will their parents have instilled in them the same values I am trying to instill in my child. How will they handle it? Will I like them? What if I don't? And on and on........

As I posted yesterday, it really is such a pleasure to watch your children mature. To be able to see the values you have tried to instill in them come to fruition. I am so proud of Jason. As I watch him in leadership at church and at school, I see this young man emerging who loves God and loves people. I see him making great choices (of course we have a few blips along the way) as he is navigating these crazy teenage years......Connor being one of them. What a sweet girl she is! When you meet her, you immediately like her. She fit very comfortably into our family last night....and you know she had to be nervous!! Seeing them together was very sweet and I was proud of how my son treated her. I am looking forward to getting to know her better!

I'll tell you what I told Jason (after he asked me if she wasn't just the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.......ya, he's smitten!!)......

....if I had to pick a girl to be Jason's girlfriend, I would pick Connor.

So, as my son and Connor enter this new phase of their lives, I will be praying for them and laying them at the Father's feet.

Lord, bless these young kids. Give them wisdom and maturity in handling their relationship. Draw them close to you first, Lord, so that you can be the center of their relationship. Protect their purity, Lord. Help my son honor Connor, Lord. Be with me and Steve and her parents..give us wisdom as we help our children navigate life.

Thank you for these two lives and thank you for the JOY of being Jason's mom.

I'll leave you with a fun video of the evening...they were all being very composed while I was videoing....as soon as I turned the camera off....it got crazy!!!!

AWWWW! I'm so glad you gave us the 411 on the big night. "Connor" is a unique name for a girl, at least up here. I loved your prayer for them, too. I'm happy for you all.

AWWWWWW they are adorable!

What a wonderful testimony of your son's character!

I think it's great you are putting this down - it will be fun to go back on one day and read when he is older!
