Happy Birthday Sweet Alyssa!!

Boy, I need all your blogger prayers this morning!!  My "baby" turns 19 today!!  And it is her first birthday away from home......yes, I am having a hard time with it!  Nineteen years ago, my prayers of two years were answered with the most beautiful baby girl you have ever seen.  Little did I know what a lovely, godly young woman she would become or how much I would miss her when she left home.  She called me last night to open a package I sent her early (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) and I nearly cried at the squeals of joy I heard as she found her favorite birthday cake inside (I won't tell you or my husband just how much that birthday cake cost to send..yikes!  only a mother's love!).  I love you sweetie!!!  I wish you the best birthday ever!

Not only are we all going to be sad today as we miss Alyssa (no decorating her door, or eating off the birthday plate, or favorite meals for dinner) but we are also going to be tired!  Last night the latest of the big storms hit Little Rock.....have I mentioned how tired I am of the rain?!?!  These however produced tornadoes to our north and south.  They all went right around us, thank you Jesus, but it was a bit scary.  I have not turned on the news yet this morning to hear the damage, but am praying it is minimal.  I woke up at 5:45 to the loudest thunder ever....it literally shook my bed!!!  To someone who is not a morning person, is tired and missing her daughter.....NOT a good way to wake up!!!  I think I will need a little extra java this morning!

My boys are supposed to be leaving for a youth camping trip tonight.  They have said that the storms are going to clear up for a few days, but please pray for them.  I am not sure how they possibly are going to find a place to camp that is not under water, but we shall see.  It may be another anxious night for me.....I am way too old for this!!!!

Twinkies! hahaha Two SaraLynns...oh my! It is nice to meet you as well. I love meeting new people, especially those that have the same interest, like cooking!!
Awww, Happy Birthday to your daughter!
My kids are still small, so I can only imagine how hard it must be for them to leave home. Maybe you could have a special dinner in her honor? Would that help or be more depressing?
You are not far from me! I am near Tulsa. There were some scary clouds around here last night too, but thankfully we only had rain. I feel so anxious the entire tornado season!
I hope your boys can find a piece of dry land for camping!
Have a great day, SaraLynn

Hey there Sara,

Hope you are ok! I didn't realize until now that there were tornadoes in your area last night!
