Project 365 - Week 1

 Week 1.

Seriously, can you believe it is 2012?  And then it's already the end of the 1st week of 2012?!!  Someone needs to slow down the clock just a little bit!!!

Here we are at the start of a new year with Project 365.  This will be my 4th year to host this project.  I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed it and what a joy it is to go back over my year and see things that I had completely forgotten about!!  I know my family will treasure these books (yes, I make mine into a book each year) as much as I do!

I hope you might consider joining us!  We post our weeks pictures on Sunday and link up to this post and then share out photos with each other.  However, you will end up sharing more than photos...you will also share in some amazing friendships!!!  Join us!  It's never too late to start!!

Here's my week:

Sunday
Happy New Year!!!!!
We had our usual New Years Day open house except that we scaled it down due to just arriving home last night!  So, just a big pot of black eyed peas and cornbread!!

The teenagers took over the dining room and had fun playing trivial pursuit

 Monday
Oh my word, it is back to the diet....enough said.

 Tuesday
Jared's school does a two week J-term in January.  He is taking a steel drum class.  The drum is small but makes some beautiful music!!!!

Wednesday
Happy Birthday to my "baby"
Can't believe he is 18?!!!

Thursday
I have checked out a new book "Artisan bread in Five Minutes a Day"  This is my first attempt.  Not bad!!!!!  And soooo yummy!!

Friday
We took Christmas down today....there is always ONE item that doesn't make it into the box!!

Saturday
Went to a baby shower today...a Bow Shower.
We all got to make bows for the new baby!  It was so much fun and I was so impressed with my bows!!!  The girl who hosted had instructions for each kind of bow and all the makings.  Mine are the big yellow one and the one on the left with grey and red petals.

So how did your first week of 2012 go?

Looks like a good first week of the year. That bread looks so perfect it looks fake. Would you share the recipe?
I love the idea of the baby shower and making the bows... any chance I could get the instructions on how to make them. I would love to use it as a baby shower idea the next time I do one for someone at church.
Happy New Year Sara!

Even with the help of my grand-elves, scouring the house for anything Christmas, I found more than one item left out :(

What program do you use for your yearly book? I definitely want to make one. Tried yesterday to start with Blog2Print, but too many glitches so far, may give up. Not flexible enough, and photos too small.

Happy birthday, Jared! See ya' soon!

I always end up leaving something out from the Christmas decos too. This year it is my Snoopy clock, it's still singing Christmas songs to us every hour. :)

Handsome birthday boy!! Love it.

That bread looks DIVINE!

And, I am STILL finding pieces of Christmas out. Including our stockings still hanging out, my entire Christmas music collection and a 3foot angel still hanging around!

Love it!

I can't believe that I actually got to work up my 365 yesterday instead of latter today!

Love Trivial Pursuit, it's one of my fav's!

18, a milestone....very hansom birthday boy!

I have bread on deck for next week, I am all out of the DD favorite and the hubs favorite...Honey Whole Wheat and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.

Love the concept of the bread, went and checked out the website. What kind of container do you use?

Blessings

and your right about the 2012 thing....and I think for the first time in longer than I can remember I got all my decoration put away, but it's still early and I may stumble on one that did not get put away....

I bought that bread book and used it a lot at first, and then sorta quit. We're back to making bread now that I have another KitchenAid stand mixer :) I luuuuuuve homemade bread and that looks really good.

So do those adorable bows! What a great idea for a baby girl shower.

Our "babies" grow up way too fast :) My son turned 30 a couple weeks ago!

I'll be back later in the day to post my week.

Glad your new year is off to a good start!

We always seem to end up with a couple of Christmas decorations left out as well. We found a Santa in the den today!

I love homemade bread so much! And those loaves look delicious.

The bow idea is super-cute! I'll have to keep that in mind.

Love those bows! What a cute idea.

I can't believe Jared is 18 now - he's not a kid anymore! It's been fun watching everyone's kids get older these past couple of years...

Wow. You are one brave lady to be having company on the day right after coming home! Glad it was fun. And--umm--we're getting back to the diet over here, too. :(

Happy Birthday to Jared!

What a neat idea for a shower. (Your bows are extra-impressive!!) Marci's so cute!! I got to see her for a split second on Saturday. Yay!

could you send me more information on the bow making station? or have the women who threw the shower send it to me? I'm trying to put one together for a friend's shower and would love to know where they got the supplies/directions!
